At Atain, we are looking for a passionate individual aiming to follow a career path in the specialty insurance industry. Our 12-week summer internship program aims to develop one's business acumen, communication, and leadership skills through valuable real-world experience. This is a paid summer internship that provides additional learning opportunities for students to learn from and network with executive leadership and fellow interns in a variety of departments. This student will be expected to work 40 hours per week, with four days spent in an office setting and one day remote. The Operations Assistant Intern will work side by side with senior leaders to transact business as an assistant underwriter for our company.
Responsibilities
Learn fundamentals of the underwriting process
Assist in underwriting analysis of potential accounts
Utilize software such as ImageRight to inspect documents and find missing information on inspection reports to create detailed policies.
Learn applicable underwriting software such as Bridge and Sapiens, evaluating rating systems and calculations.
Perform analyses on underwriting programs and recommend changes
Evaluate opportunities to improve process efficiencies and/or underwriting results
Work on projects related to general liability, excess liability and claims handling
Qualifications
Enrolled as an undergraduate at an accredited university, actively pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Entrepreneurship, or another relevant field
Expected graduation in December 2026 or May 2027
Previous internship experience is preferred
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Summer internship dedicated to piloting innovative machine learning workflows to support cross-study integration of clinical trial data. In this role, you will collaborate across informatics and pharmacometrics teams to enhance a variational autoencoder (VAE) pipeline for translating patient-level data between unpaired and heterogeneous datasets-an important advancement for precision medicine and translational research.

Qualifications & Experience
* Enrolled in a PhD program in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a quantitative discipline (preferred)

The Undergraduate Intern has the opportunity to participate in technical interactions with clients. Protein Expression, Purification, and Characterization (duties will differ based on department assignment).
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Express recombinant proteins in microbial or eukaryotic expression systems at scales ranging from milliliter to hundreds of liters using shake flasks and automated bioreactors
Purify recombinant proteins at scales ranging from milligrams to tens of grams using automated chromatography systems
Characterize in-process samples and purified proteins using methods including, but not limited to, OD determination, metabolite profiling, SDS-PAGE, RP-HPLC, aSEC, LAL assay
Develop assays for testing purified proteins against a panel of release criteria
Complete project plans according to all specifications, including timeline and budget
Evaluate and implement new technologies and work practices in the fields of protein expression, purification, and characterization
Prepare and deliver final presentation to the team on work performed during the internship
The essential requirements of the job include:
Working towards an undergraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, microbiology or a closely related field
Previous lab experience
Exposure to one or a combination of the following is preferred: automated single-use or stainless bioreactor systems and control software, GE ÄKTA systems and unicorn software or HPLC systems and control/data analysis software.

Meeting a high standard of accuracy, the role performs data entry of confidential information in the Office of Advancement GU360 database of alumni, parents, donors and friends of the University. The Engagement Data Analyst is responsible for the coding of all non-Signature Event engagement activities and data in the GU360 Salesforce database. The person in this role will use mass coding tools such as dataloader.io to import and manipulate engagement data. They are responsible for coding data submitted via the Group Coding Tool, managing a ticketing system to track requests, and providing customer service to internal users. The Engagement Data Analyst will also perform data analysis to guide leadership decisions on alumni engagement, including creating and maintaining dashboards. This role also requires managing relationships with various internal clients and OA teams to ensure their data is submitted in the correct format and coded in a manner that allows for consistent and easy access and reporting.
