Position Details This is a full-time, non-exempt, temporary position. The internship is for a period of between eight to ten weeks, ideally beginning in mid-June and ending in mid-August. Interns will earn $30 per hour and work between 32 - 40 hours per week. Paid holidays and PTO are included, and PTO will be pro-rated based on an accrual of .0769 hours for every hour worked. We also offer a $100 weekly transportation stipend, and a $200 allowance to cover any necessary personal protective equipment. Interns are expected to be on site 4 - 5 days per week, typically working from 9 am - 5 pm, depending on project needs. Job Responsibilities: Data Collection and Sanitization: Assist in gathering property data from various sources, including county records and assessment databases. Clean and format the data to ensure it is accurate, consistent, and ready for analysis. Data Analysis and Reporting: Assist with research, analysis, and preparation of property data for final valuation analysis. Appraisal Support: Shadow and assist appraisal staff with inspections to gain practical experience in the field. Learn how property characteristics such as quality, condition, location and various improvements are evaluated. GIS Mapping Support: Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to visualize property data. Update system data to reflect discrepancies found during GIS review of property data. Additional Duties as needed. Qualifications: Education and Experience: * Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited college program in relevant field: Any * Experience with Microsoft Office preferred. Skills and Competencies: * Attention to detail, precision in data entry, with an ability to spot errors or inconsistencies. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Effective time management. * Ability to coordinate different tasks and collaborate with multiple teams to complete projects. Additional Requirements or Preferred Skills: * Must have an interest in working in public government. * Preferred interest in real estate, appraisal, or statistical analysis. Equipment Used: Phone, computer, copier, scanner. Working Conditions: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
