In this project, the Pharmaceutical Sciences Intern will be responsible for conducting high throughput mRNA manufacturing runs by utilizing Beam's automation infrastructure, performing and analyzing the quality of mRNA through analytical assays, assisting with ongoing process development projects, and utilizing Benchling capabilities by registering and updating equipment used in the lab. Responsibilities: Assist in qualification of Beam's mRNA platform production scale-down model. Support automation development of high throughput mRNA manufacturing requests. Assist in process development projects. Learn and Analyze electropherograms to determine the quality of mRNA. Carry out upstream plasmid isolation and purification tasks, as well as downstream mRNA purification tasks. Help with integration of the Inventory functionality in Benchling software. Qualifications: Minimum AS degree, or currently in a BS program, in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, or a related field. Wet lab experience is required. Some experience with liquid handlers, QC by using electrophoresis, plasmid isolation and purification, chromatography is preferred, but not required.
