Position Summary
Purpose Financial is looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data Science team to help support risk management function of our consumer loan portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data analytics, predictive modeling and is comfortable working with large data sets. This role works closely with the management to perform analysis and help them make informed decisions about lending and managing the risks. Furthermore, this role requires someone who quickly adapts to change and is willing to complete all duties as assigned and requested.
Job Responsibility
Develop and implement advanced statistical and machine learning models leveraged through the customer lifecycle which includes, (but not limited to) new customer acquisition, underwriting, conversion, collections, and retention.
Evaluate the performance of existing models and design experiments to improve model performance via champion/challenger tests.
Discover insights from additional data sources to understand/influence consumer financial behavior and continue to enhance machine learning models as additional data becomes available.
Develop automated processes and procedures to streamline data analysis and reporting. Monitor trends in relevant KPIs and report on key insights on a regular basis.

Job Responsibilities Cont. Education Required

Associate Actuarial Analyst:
The Associate Actuarial Analyst position is responsible for assisting with the review and analysis of the company's loss and expense reserve development for financial reporting as well as rating analysis in support of underwriting rate filings and experience reporting.
Major Accountabilities:
Act as key resource for ratemaking, loss reserve studies, financial reporting, forecasting and other special projects as needed for company support and state DOI rate filings.
Assist with compiling and ensuring the accuracy of data, organizing information for effectiveness, and collaborating with others in various disciplines as needed.
Prepare and maintain complex models, analyzing results, and effectively communicate recommendations while implementing changes to our products and processes
Work cross-functionally with other departments to compile accurate data and information in an organized and effective manner
Develops understanding of insurance business, products and regulatory environments

Qualifications
Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Statistics or related field required. Must be currently pursuing the designation of ACAS (Associate) in the Casualty Actuarial Society. Actuarial internship preferred but not required. Requires the completion of two or more actuarial exams. R, SQL, Python, PowerBI experience are a plus.
Experience/Specialized Skills: Basic knowledge of actuarial methods and analysis required. At least one year of experience working with data and advanced querying skills required. Insurance industry experience preferred, but not required. Able to function independently with strong time management skills. Advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Internet, e-mail) required.

Position Summary
Purpose Financial is looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data Science team to help support risk management function of our consumer loan portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data analytics, predictive modeling and is comfortable working with large data sets.
