The Biostatistician I perform a variety of standard programming and analytical assignments. Assists in the preparation of data sets, statistical analyses, and writing statistical results. Provides statistics deliverables of ongoing clinical or research studies, runs statistical software, and may maintain database programs and databases.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides statistical analysis for projects using appropriate statistical and computing methodologies and assists in the interpretation and presentation of results.
Assists with writing statistical sections of manuscripts, publications, grant applications and protocols. Ensures documentation and summarization of the statistical analyses results are clear, consistent and in an organized fashion.
Critically reviews and summarizes statistical analysis methods described in statistical literature.
Implements methods described in the statistical literature into operational computer applications using appropriate programming languages.
Participates in professional meetings to assure positive representation at local, national and international levels.
May maintain database programs/databases and may prepare or update documentation of database and other software programs.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics, bioinformatics, or relevant field such as genetics or epidemiology. Master's degree preferred.
Experience and Skills:
2 years of experience and working knowledge of database programs and biostatistics applied to research preferred.
