He/she will report to the Manager of Data Science and will be involved in research, development and implementation of analytical solutions based on statistical models.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs data mining and data cleansing tasks.
Prepare datasets for modeling through balancing and validation.

QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in economics, statistics, or related field required, PhD preferred.
1 or more years of experience developing and implementing multivariate predictive models using GLM and other statistical methods.
Broad thinker with the ability to synthesize information from various sources and apply that information to concrete business problems. Strong decision-making skills.
Solid skills and training in predictive modeling, data mining and other quantitative and research analytics (Multivariate Analysis, Bayesian Methods, Generalized Linear Models, Non-Linear Models, Decision Trees, Non- Parametric estimation etc.).
Strong programming ability in SAS, SQL, R or other programming languages and proficiency in scripting languages and ability to build code and algorithms to tackle statistical problems.
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Self-starter and strong individual contributor.
Solid understanding of database principles and experience working with large databases.
Knowledge of auto insurance will be a plus.
SALARY RANGE
The pay range for this position is $109,000 to $140,000 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

The insurance Actuarial Group of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is currently recruiting for a Lead Senior Pricing Actuary role to provide support to Everest's Casualty Insurance business. This a hybrid position based out of our Warren or New York City offices. The ideal candidate will be high-energy, with a strong desire to learn and develop, and be attracted to the opportunity to develop new tools & capabilities within a rapidly expanding business.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Development and enhancement of portfolio management tools and rating models
* Portfolio price and risk monitoring
* Planning and portfolio strategy
* Large account pricing referrals
* Continuous communication with Underwriting and support to develop strategic initiatives.
* New product development
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
* 7-10 years of experience in the property-casualty insurance industry with significant commercial line pricing experience
* FCAS
* Excel expertise a must.
* Proficiency in SQL and Excel VBA
* Strong aptitude for programming languages
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
* Enjoys fostering collaborative relationships.
* Flexible and responsive to dynamic business needs including tight turnaround times.
* Comfortable with autonomy, responsibility, and visibility
* Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn concepts and software tools quickly.
* Very strong written and communication skills that cover experience communicating with analytical stakeholders as well as business-oriented stakeholders.

For NJ and NY Only: The base salary range for this position is $152,000 - $205,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
