Reporting directly to the CFO and VP of Finance & Administration the Database Manager will lead and direct functions by designing, maintaining, and monitoring our current/future database systems.

As an integral part of the AFT team, the Database Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining database systems across the organization. The Database Manager plays a primary role in ensuring that all systems are running accurately, and staff are properly trained in the databases used. These currently include Microsoft Dynamics365, SharePoint and within the next year a new CRM on the Microsoft platform. The Database Manager will work with a third-party partner to implement new portions of systems. AFT is in the very early stages of Dynamics 365 adoption.
What You'll Be Working On
Design usage of database systems. Enhances the effectiveness of database tools and services. Help build the structure and design of the database. Enhance the scalability and performance of existing database structures and recommend improvements by aligning systems with business needs Monitor & improve database performance with testing and troubleshooting. Keep up to date with technological developments. Address database related queries from staff. Develop technical solutions for any problems related to database system. Conduct regular data auditing to maintain integrity of the database. Ensure data security. Conduct interviews with stakeholders to identify business requirements Set policies and standard operating procedures for database design and use Work with database developers to implement new tools and integrate with various systems or eliminate unnecessary systems. Champion use of Dynamics365 and SharePoint to all end users. Manage project timelines for implementation of new features.

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Manager, Database Administration to join our team in Orlando, FL.

TheManager, Database Administration is responsible for setting up, managing, and optimizing databases in support of Enterprise and External Web applications. This includes working closely with system managers and developers to add system functionality, tables, and data, optimizing systems for availability and performance, and contributing to system upgrades. The Manager is responsible for maintaining applications, processes, and maintenance procedures, performance tuning and documentation and management of changes to database operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:



Setup, configure, and install database systems. Optimizes and tunes database systems. Pro-actively monitors performance and capacity. Performs data ports and data loads; monitors and tests data integrity as required. Backup, recovery, testing of recovery procedures, and archiving databases. Troubleshoots database issues and performs database impact analysis for proposed changes. Ensures that systems stay updated on all relevant patches and upgrades. Alter tables and schema structure as required. Serve as technical expert for database design and support issues. Works with the Application and Internet Development teams to develop stored procedures, triggers, and code to support enterprise applications as well as to enforce coding standards. Executes database release management processes and coordinates maintenance of development, testing, and production environments. Directly supervises staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned



Education

About This Opportunity


The Manager is responsible for the Database Administration team managing databases that support InComm's business in a global, high-availability and high-performance environments.

The incumbent leads both technically and administratively the DBA in administering SQL and MySQL databases and applications, tuning to the best performance, and industry best practices. The database environments to support include but not limited to development, quality assurance, test, and production.


Responsibilities



Formal management of a team of SQL Server database administrators. Effectively lead a team and inspire others to achieve goals with a focus on automation, excellence, innovation, and quality. Ability to manage change and effectively communicate up and down the line to for smoother execution. Meet with client teams to understand requirements, conduct regular team meetings, and track progress. Conduct performance reviews of team members and identify areas of improvement, give feedback, and make recommendations for promotions or salary increments Provide technical leadership in design, implementation and support of the core database services that are highly reliable, flexible, scalable, and cost effective. Define policies, procedures, and standards to be implemented in database system. Oversee efforts to maximize database system availability, ensure swift and complete database recovery, optimizing database and availability through ongoing maintenance, and ensure conformance to audit and operating standards. Establish proper monitoring, measuring, and reporting of service performance against Service Level Objectives, customer satisfaction and financial efficiencies. Support staffing for 24X7 production environments. Manage risks, assessing gaps/opportunities, and implementing action plans to mitigate risks, when applicable Specific duties may vary depending upon departmental requirements.


Qualifications



Qualifications:


2+ years of leadership experience. 5+ years of database administration experience with SQL Server Databases Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information System, Information Technology, or related field required Experience in on premise database builds both virtual and physical servers as well as Azure cloud servers. A good knowledge & experience in using and configuring SQL Sentry Experience in migrating code, database changes and data through the various stages of the development life cycle and supporting 24X7 production environments
