Position Summary
The Clinical Database Programmer will assist in designing, programming, and testing Electronic Data Capture (EDC) databases for the purpose of conducting clinical studies. The role works with Clinical Study Teams to assist in developing EDC databases in adherence to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Essential Functions
Assist in EDC database development in consultation with Clinical Data Managers, Statistical Programmers, Biostatisticians, and Clinical Trial Managers.
Assist in design, program, and test EDC databases including eCRFs, dictionaries, data validation checks, database functions (including new), and standard and custom database reports.
Maintain a global library according to current (CDISC/SDTM) and new standards.
Assist with EDC database User Acceptance Testing.
Assist with the Development and maintenance of EDC database documentation.
Provide EDC technical support to facilitate study timelines and deliverables.
Conduct training on EDC database usage to support internal and external users.
In conjunction with the Senior Database Programmer, coordinate EDC database software validation efforts.
Maintain Coding Dictionary updates/version control within the application
Serve as a resource for Clinical Data Management SOP development and best practices in an effort to improve quality and streamline EDC database build and data cleaning efforts.
Serve as point of contact for Clinical Database Programmers inclusive of training and mentoring as needed.
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process improvements, and standardization of templates.
Perform ad-hoc and cross-functional projects assigned to support business needs and provide developmental opportunities.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field is required.
3+ years of clinical database programming experience is required.
Experience with EDC database development is required.
Experience working in the pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficiency in various programming languages, including JavaScript and SAS.
Knowledge of CDISC/SDTM standards.
Knowledge of TrialMaster and/or Veeva Vault CDMS EDC systems preferred.
Experience with clinical coding dictionaries including MedDRA and WHODrug.
Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and regulatory requirements including FDA regulations 21 CFR Part 11.
Proficiency in computer skills across multiple applications.

This position works onsite or remote based on the candidate's geographic location.
Regular work schedule is Monday - Friday, within standard business hours. Flexibility is available with manager approval.

THE ROLE
We are seeking a Principal HubSpot Architect & CRM Admin - an elite systems leader responsible for owning and scaling HubSpot as the backbone of Quince's revenue, operations, and customer data strategy. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Database Platform Ownership
• Own the end-to-end health, performance, availability, and scalability of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB databases across AWS environments.
• Lead the evolution of Taxwell's database platform architecture, standards, and operational practices.
• Identify and implement improvements that enhance performance and reliability, especially for seasonal high-volume workloads.

Automation & Scripting
• Develop automation using T-SQL, PowerShell, and Bash to streamline operations, baseline performance, validate system health, and support observability.
• Implement automated integrity checks, failover validation, and performance baselining.
Platform Modernization & IaC
• Contribute to and review database Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) definitions using CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Support modernization as Taxwell evolves its data platform and migrates legacy systems to more scalable architectures.
Security, Compliance, and Governance
• Implement and audit database security controls, encryption, access management, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to best practices for data integrity, retention, auditing, and access control.
Mentorship & Leadership
• Serve as the senior-most technical DBA, mentoring junior DBAs and guiding engineers in database best practices.
• Lead cross-team initiatives to improve reliability, scalability, automation, and data quality.
QUALIFICATIONS:

* Maintain the highest level of database security utilizing available RDBMS tools, timely application of patches, and by working with system admins for server level security measures.
* Build and maintain a disaster recovery plan. Document and test the procedures on a regular basis.
* Work with system admins to plan and manage server/network/storage resource utilization to provide effective system and database performance.
* Analyze and tune SQL and work with application team to determine when redesign/new indices/hints are required to provide efficient execution.
* Provide testing environments and reliable procedures for regularly refreshing data.
* Participate on project teams with application architects to ensure hardware/software solutions for new systems are consistent with RDBMS guidelines. Work with system analysts in setting up tables and data relationships.
* Work with colleagues to recommend, configure, protype, and test all software used to access the RDBMS.
* Assist colleagues with the use of complex features, as well as troubleshooting data integrity issues, data anomalies, and applying corrective enhancements.
* Participate in teams examining new technologies to ensure RDBMS concerns are an integral part of future directions.
* Establish and maintain written standards, policies, and practices for the design and implementation of systems and programs to ensure optimal efficiency of new database schemes, efficient accessing of data through all mechanisms, enhancement of legacy database schemes, and data modeling.
* Recommend appropriate training for both technical and end-user staff at the University on effectively utilizing the RDBMS and its ancillary packages.
* Other related duties as assigned.
The following Degree is required:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related field.
The following Experience is required:
* 3 years in Oracle databaseadministration
* 3 years using Linux operating system
* 2 years using Windows operating system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* This role requires a very technical individual with strong RDBMS and systems knowledge.
* Troubleshooting the database related performance issues require a highly analytical individual that is creative and disciplined such that they do not negatively impact the confidentiality, availability, or integrity of the data.
* ERP/PeopleSoft and previous Microsoft SQL databaseadministration experience is preferred.

Remote: This position will be a remote position open to Full-Time US Residents authorized to work within the US. The position is required to work primary during US EST business hours.
