Maintaining efficiency and economy in operations management requires flexibility in job assignments. SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Information Technology Operations Manager, the Senior Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the MS SQL server database infrastructure and dependent systems. The Senior DBA acts as the primary technical resource for database integrity, backup and restoration, and performance monitoring. Application Review: Priority will be given to applications received by December 5, 2025. The position will remain open until filled. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Essential Functions Administers, monitors, maintains, upgrades and troubleshoots existing database infrastructure across development, testing, and production database environments. Designs, implements, and improves new database infrastructure components, applications, interfaces, replications, SSIS packages, stored procedures, etc. Develops, documents, and maintains enterprise best practices standards and procedures for database creation, upgrades, patches, backups, restoration, replication, index maintenance, tuning, monitoring, alerting, and security. Performs and monitors regular data imports from disparate internal and external systems, ranging from fully automated to manual processes, in order to meet the MTS operational reporting requirements. Performs required server and software patches in conjunction with Datacenter Operations schedules and System Administrators (may require after-hours support). Establishes and maintains security and access controls for MTS database systems, applications, data, indexes, database services, replication packages, and processes in conjunction with Datacenter Operations and System Administrators. Creates and maintains documentation for databases, database infrastructure and database processes and procedures. Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following: Evaluates emerging database technologies and recommends adoption strategies to improve scalability and performance. Architects and manages high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using SQL Server Always On and cloud-native tools. Leads strategic planning and implementation of database technologies across on-premises and cloud environments. Maintains business critical replication infrastructure, including legacy systems. Designs and executes database queries and data analysis in response to requests from MTS departments. Creates and maintains documentation for databases, database infrastructure and database processes and procedures. Collaborates with IT staff, MTS departments, and SAP support personnel in the design, development, tuning and troubleshooting of database infrastructure, services, servers and applications. Contributes to the IT Disaster Recovery Plan through yearly review and update. Performs other duties as assigned. Role: Oracle DBA Support Engineer Duration: 6-Months Contract + Extension Pay Range: $65/hr - $70/hr The role of the Support Engineer, Oracle DBA is to provide exceptional remote-based support for complex client environments on Oracle technology including Oracle Core Database, Oracle Database Tools and associated UNIX Administration as part of our global customer support team. The position has the responsibility for researching, troubleshooting issues and support of architectural & performance related improvements for multiple Oracle technology platforms. The role of the Support Engineer, Oracle DBA requires expertise and skills to debug, diagnose & resolve serious issues for complex, integrated platforms in a timely manner. Many of these environments will be configured for high availability, or high-volume mission critical applications. Essential Duties & Responsibilities o Solve complex customer issues using methodical troubleshooting based on expert knowledge of Core Database, Database tools and associated UNIX Administration o Work closely with customers on a daily basis to understand their needs, support business change and deliver a consistently high quality customer experience o Provide remote-based production operational support & guidance for multiple clients using Oracle Technology products o Support client configuration, sharing implementation and best practice advice o Manage one or more key assigned accounts as a single point of client contact and advisor o Be a pro-active contributor to a 24x7x365 running support organization, this will require working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays and monitoring email regularly outside standard business hours o Collaborate with team members in a virtual team environment to extend field experience to different client situations o Contribute to the development and management of knowledge-sharing methodologies, diagnostic tools, and creative processes, to improve the client experience o Going on Site to various customers Additional Duties & Responsibilities o Mentor and train the other team members in the area of own expertise Education o Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience Experience o 10+ years relevant Oracle Core DBA experience o 3+ years direct support of application end-users in a Corporate environment o Expertise in all major versions of technology stack including Database, iAS, Forms, Reports, PL/SQL, Java, Enterprise Manager, SOA, WebLogic and JVM o Hands-on operational expertise as an Oracle DBA, with technology including RAC, SSO, Dataguard, High Availability and Backup/Recovery o Expertise with Oracle Database 11 & 12, including full life-cycle implementation experience, configuration and administration of the application o Expertise in performance tuning across the entire stack - Knowledge of Oracle maintenance/patching mechanics and EBS architecture o Demonstrable history solving complex problems across multiple modules Skills o Superb trouble-shooting skills and tenacity in problem solving o Passionate focus on customer support and the ability to build long term, successful working relationships with Clients o Deep knowledge of Oracle Database deployment methodologies o Excellent development skills using Oracle toolset and Linux/Python scripts o Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills -verbal & written o Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly o Extreme focus on Client satisfaction o Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations o The ability to work remotely from a home based office in a virtual environment Desired Qualifications o Experience with administration, installation and/or debug of other Oracle Technology components would be an advantage such as Fusion Middleware, WebLogic components, Essbase, Golden Gate, OBIEE, OIM - MS SQL, PostgreSQL or Exadata experience while not mandatory, would be useful o A consulting background, while not mandatory, would be useful
