Key Functions
Design, develop, and implement solutions utilizing Microsoft SQL Server
Translate business requirements into specific technical designs
Follow standard design, development, testing, and implementation phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
Adhere to industry coding standards / clean code principles
Stay up to date with, research, and recommend current trends in Microsoft SQL Server and Database tools
Work with multiple teams to develop new systems and expand functionality to existing applications
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline is desired
Minimum 8 years of Microsoft SQL Server development experience
Construction Industry and Related Enterprise Level Tools (Procore, Sage Intacct, Viewpoint Vista, Primavera P6, HCSS HeavyBid, etc.) is heavily preferred
Functional knowledge of ERP systems is heavily preferred
Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Experience developing stored procedures, complex SQL queries, triggers, and analyzing SQL data
Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting
Experience with data warehousing and replication techniques
Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and optimization techniques
Understand performance tuning, security, and scalability of enterprise applications
Client-focused attitude with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Data Entry & Maintenance

Reporting & Exports
Run queries, lists, and exports to support mailings, solicitations, events, and stewardship activities.
Produce donor lists, acknowledgment letters, and reports for development staff and leadership.
Provide data support for campaign tracking, alumni engagement, and financial reconciliation.
Data Quality & Compliance
Maintain confidentiality and donor data security.
Support processes for duplicate record prevention and resolution.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience

Compensation and Benefits:

The Development DatabaseAdministrator (DBA) oversees and optimizes New York Common Pantry's donor database (Raiser's Edge NXT) to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and strategic use of fundraising data. This role is both technical and analytical, serving as the backbone of the Development team's infrastructure. The DBA manages complex administration, reporting, and data analytics to inform fundraising strategy, strengthen donor relationships, and drive organizational growth.

The Development DatabaseAdministrator will report to the Chief Development Officer at the 8 East 109th, New York, NY 10029 location. The position is full-time, exempt. This role has flexibility for hybrid work.
Responsibilities:
Database Management & Data Integrity:
Serve as the organization's primary Raiser's Edge NXT administrator, managing system configuration, global settings, security permissions, and integrations.
Ensure timely, accurate, and complete entry of all constituent, gift, and pledge information.
Develop and enforce data standards, coding conventions, and audit processes to maintain database integrity.
Manage routine data hygiene projects, including de-duplication, address verification, and NCOA updates, and troubleshoot data issues that may impact data quality.
Partner with Finance to conduct monthly and year-end reconciliations of gifts and pledges, ensuring alignment across departments.
Evaluate and implement database enhancements and integrations (e.g., online giving, event registration, or marketing tools).
Create and maintain data fields, attributes, and coding structures to support fundraising activities.
Ensure secure access and permissions management so that staff can safely and appropriately view, edit, and manage sensitive data in accordance with best practices.
Reporting, Analytics & Insights:
Design and manage advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics that support strategic decision-making across fundraising programs, including major gifts, institutional giving, and planned giving programs.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including donor retention, pipeline movement, fundraising activity, and revenue progress.
Provide actionable insights into giving trends, donor segmentation, and portfolio performance to guide fundraising strategies.
Support moves management and portfolio development, including creating tools to track engagement, solicitations, and stewardship.
Training, Documentation & User Support:
Develop and deliver training, documentation, and SOPs to ensure staff consistency and efficiency in data entry and reporting.
Provide user support and act as liaison between Development, IT, and external vendors.
Promote a culture of data-informed decision-making across the Development team.
Strategic & Project Leadership:
Lead or assist in database projects, including upgrades, integrations, and process automations.
Collaborate with Development leadership to analyze and forecast revenue, identify trends, and optimize donor engagement strategies.
Contribute to the design and evaluation of new fundraising initiatives and campaigns by providing data modeling and segmentation support.
Maintain familiarity with data privacy, confidentiality, and compliance requirements related to donor information.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in data management, nonprofit administration, business, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a fundraising CRM (Raiser's Edge NXT strongly preferred) in a complex nonprofit environment.

Proven track record of data analysis and reporting in support of fundraising goals.
Experienced in collaborating with Finance, IT, and Development teams on reconciliations and system integrations.
