With a proven track record of leveraging expertise to drive business value. **ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES** : + Proficient in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale database systems in Amazon Web Services with MSSQL, MySQL, or other relational database technologies, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. + Proven experience in designing and developing data warehousing solutions using SSIS and SSRS to support business intelligence and reporting needs. + Proven expertise in optimizing database performance, using techniques such as indexing, caching, table design, query plan analysis and query optimization to improve query execution times and overall system performance. + Provides architectural/database technical expertise to the team concerning methods, procedures, and standards to be used during design and development phases. + Strong understanding of database architecture and design principles, including data modeling, normalization, and denormalization. + Develops and maintains technical documentation and operational procedures for areas of responsibility. Creates and maintains standard operating procedures and knowledge bases. + Investigates and fixes defects; both pre and post-release. + Participates in the design of structured and unstructured data. + Familiar with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, Apache Kafka, REDIS, Cassandra, etc... + Experienced in working with agile methodologies, agile planning tools, CI/CD, and source code management to collaborate with cross-functional teams and deliver high-quality database solutions. **_Other responsibilities may include_** _:_ + Helps develop new database code and improve existing database code. + Automates operational/maintenance tasks. + Identifies new and useful new database features; collaborates with the database team and implements them. + Provides technical leadership to Engineers on efficient use of database technologies and features. + Takes code ownership of areas like loading data from external systems through SSIS, Procedural Logic, and understanding of core relational concepts. + Assists in performance tuning and makes optimization recommendations. + Takes part in code reviews and offers solutions, with a reasonable rationale to problems. + Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES** : + Advanced-level business acuity + In-depth knowledge and understanding of general/core job-related functions, practices, processes, procedures, techniques and methods + Expert-level MySQL knowledge and understanding + Advanced understanding of scripting and automation + Expert understanding of backup and recovery concepts and primary/secondary device replication for both MSSQL and MySQL server + Expertise in design and development of databases (SQL, MySQL, etc.), tables, distributed views, and stored procedures + Familiarity with HIPAA data guidelines and requirements for securing PHI data + Familiarity with MongoDB & Apache Kafka is a plus + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, to include listening, verbal and written skills + Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under time pressure + Strong analytical skills, sound judgment and ability to collaborate effectively with client and other technical staff + Ability and willingness to quickly adjust priorities as business needs shift + Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; proficient in other systems required for the position + Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and/or nationally up to 10% of the time; flexible to work after-hours and weekends as needed + Spoken and written fluency in English + This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA** : + A minimum of 5 years' work experience in designing, analyzing and tuning MySQL databases required + Firsthand experience creating all key database objects - Tables, Views, Triggers, Indices, Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions, Dynamic SQL required + Experience with VLDBs and Reporting Data Sets, OLTP and OLAP a plus + Experience with DDL/DML auditing (3rd party or native tools) We're ChenMed and we're transforming healthcare for seniors and changing America's healthcare for the better.
