Description:
Previous experience in an HP-UX or Sun Solaris Oracle environment Competence with database commands and utilities such as exp, imp, sql loader, etc. Competence with database administration tasks such as hot and cold backups, database recovery, tablespace additions, etc. Advanced installation and configuration experience. Strong knowledge of SQL*Net. Ability to write, debug and tune sql and pl/sql, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc. Experience with database monitoring and tuning tools such as EM, Dbtuner, Spotlight Solid experience with the Unix operating system and command set as well as competence with shell scripting Knowledge of physical and logical disk systems and their impact on database performance. Hands on Cassandra DB, Hadoop knowledge will be a big plus 4-6 years in an HP-UX or Sun Solaris environment. 4-6 years as a database administrator working with Oracle Experience in a large, 24x7 environment. A four year degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Diagnose and resolve query performance issues, tune indexes, refactor problematic stored procedures and queries, and remove blocking/locking hotspots.
Plan and execute data migration strategies to cloud-managed DBs or hybrid patterns; produce migration runbooks and cutover plans.
Manage monitoring and alerting (query latency, replication lag, slow queries, deadlocks) and retention/archival strategies.
Define data access patterns, instrumentation requirements and help developers implement safe data access layers.
Own schema-change process and coordinate migrations with release windows, ensuring transactional integrity.
Produce runbooks, DR playbooks, and participate in on-call rotations for DB incidents.
