Database Administrator

Database administrators use specially designed software to keep, organize, restore, and secure data for businesses, employees, and customers from unauthorized people or unwanted users. They search for potential security risks or issues and proactively correct or find appropriate solutions. They are highly trained tech experts who work full-time for establishments that give computer design services or in industries that have huge databases, such as educational academies, institutions, and insurance firms. It is their responsibility to closely monitor the database system to ensure efficiency and functionality. They also coordinate the systems that data analysts use for translating numbers into strategic business plans.

Oracle Database Administrator

An Oracle Database administrator is responsible for monitoring the organization's Oracle management system to ensure the smooth and successful flow of operations while maintaining database security. Oracle Database administrators regularly install updates on the software system to boost efficiency, manage user accounts, identify any inconsistencies for troubleshooting, process upgrades with backups, and to create instructional materials for users. An Oracle Database administrator must have excellent analytical skills, as well as highly-knowledgeable of the technology industry, computer network systems, and programming languages.

SQL Database Administrator

SQL database administrators (DBAs) are professionals who are using specialized software for data storage and organization. Among the duties of DBAs are capacity planning, database design, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, and installation. They are responsible for security, data recovery, and migration. The skills they should have include problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills, attention details, and good organizational skills. Get SQL experience through certification, integrate SQL into your regular workday, volunteer, or become a documentation guru.

Team leaders create strategies to reach goals, cascade the goals and strategies to team members, assign tasks, conduct periodic check-ups on the roadmap towards the goals, foster an engaging work environment, motivate and coach team members, monitor team performance, evaluate the strategies and come up with mitigating plans as needed. They are also responsible for reporting the team's progress to higher management.
