In this role, you will provide technical information, coordination and direction to technologists in the immunohistochemistry laboratory section, engaged in performing specialized tests for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. In addition, you will be monitoring quality control, quality assurance and safety programs. This is a part time role, 20 hours per week, working hours 10am-6pm days may vary.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assigns employees to duties and oversees performance of tests in such fields as microbiology, chemistry, histology, hematology, diagnostic immunology, immunohematology and urinalysis. Performs laboratory testing in assigned specialty areas.Serves as a technical resource and troubleshoots instrumentation, technical and computer problems. Reviews reports of completed analyses. Evaluates and explains abnormal or unusual tests results and assists technologists in solving problems. The State Highway Administration's (SHA) District 5 is currently recruiting for a Traffic Technical Specialist (Transportation Engineer V) in Anne Arundel County. Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to assist with the preparation and review of various traffic engineering studies, research, and analyses. The Traffic Technical Specialist will be tasked with training and mentoring the other engineers in the division. This position will also serve as the technical expert within the District 5 Traffic Office, working with traffic engineering software packages such as Synchro and Sidra, along with MicroStation. This will allow District 5 Traffic to develop operational alternatives in addressing safety and congestion related concerns. Responsibilities of the position include the following: the development of engineering solutions to a wide range of complex transportation technical problems; representing the SHA's District 5 Traffic Office at numerous meetings; serving as a liaison between the district and other SHA offices, other government agencies, private consulting firms, elected officials and the general public; and acting as the Transportation Engineer Manager in their absence.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
Experience : Five (5) years of experience in professional engineering.
Selective Qualification: Two and half (2.5) years of experience in the application of traffic engineering software packages (i.e. HCS, SYNCHRO, QuickZone, and ArcGIS).

The Payroll Functional Systems Analyst position is ideal for someone who enjoys learning new things, working with new systems, as well as working with numbers, data, and Excel. Essential Functions
* Facilitates the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll in Oracle for approximately 10,000 employees.
* Works with the payroll team, to audit ten- and twelve-month, summer bi-weekly payrolls with full-time and part-time regular, temporary, and substitute employee payroll processes.
* Redesign current business processes, assisting with system and parallel testing.
* Coordinate with payroll team to ensure all maintenance is processed in timely manner. Assist with Internal and External Business Partners to assess new functional system enhancements, system updates and integrations.
* Assist with year-end testing to ensure a smooth year-end to provide accurate W2's
* Collaborate with multiple business teams within the organization like HCM, Benefits and Accounting.
* Participate in payroll projects and opportunities as assigned
* Works closely with Payroll team to provide excellent customer service and back up for payroll processes, as necessary.
* Works closely with internal staff and vendors to ensure HR, Benefits and Payroll changes are processed, accurate funding occurs for all accounts, tax remittance, GL costing and balancing, month-end close and reporting is completed in a timely manner.
* Oversees the creation of new system documentation for departmental business processes and tasks.

Desired Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or Associate degree with the equivalent work experience. Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
* Must have five plus years of payroll experience (CPP strongly preferred) with a focus on timekeeping and attendance.

* Highly proficient in Microsoft suite of products especially Excel and PowerPoint.
