Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance has an immediate opening for a Facilities Assistant, an individual who will provide an important element of mechanical, safety, and operational support in all areas of our facilities team. This position will report directly to the Director of Facilities Operations and will work closely with our Clinic Managers and Upper Management. This position is based in Nashville and will also support other Middle Tennessee TOA Locations.
The primary responsibilities for the Facilities Assistant include:
· Maintenance: Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders. Recognizing building deficiencies, technical troubleshooting with knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems. Monitoring the cleanliness of interior and exterior areas such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots, and other outdoor spaces. Supporting Janitorial Services.
· Safety and Security: Monitoring the safety of interior and exterior areas such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots, and other outdoor spaces. Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions. Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
· New Project Development and Renovations: Collaborate with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facility's needs. Work closely with Facilities Manager and team to support new project development and renovations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for the Facilities Assistant will have demonstrated success in these primary areas of focus and responsibility.
Must have a valid TN Drivers license.
Must have physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must have proficiency Microsoft; Word, Excel.
Successful experience with recognizing building deficiencies.
Demonstrated fluency in maintaining day to day operations of facilities.
Fundamental and sound knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
Technical Troubleshooting skills and the ability to self-diagnose.
Proficiency with repair tools and techniques.
Experienced working with outside vendors.
Ability to coordinate with facilities and building owners.

This Physician Assistant position is dedicated to our Ortho Urgent Care facility in the One City Clinic. As such, the schedule will include expanded hours to for daytime, evening, and/or weekend staffing.
The Physician Assistant is an extension of our Orthopaedic Surgeons, and works closely with them in our practice, serving an important role in our holistic patient care. Our PAs are responsible for providing routine patient care in a clinical setting and aiding our physicians ensuring that our patient care is of the highest effectiveness as quality. Perform comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical examinations.

Work closely with the TOA surgeons to evaluate and treat patients in the office setting.

Assist physicians and or ancillary staff in the application of specialized orthopaedic devices. Fit and measure for braces and orthopaedic devices.

Triage patient telephone calls, answer questions and provide consultation and education to the patient and personal representatives.
Provide monitoring and continuity of care. Provide supporting documentation and coding information for all health care services provided.

Wipe your lights and tables with germicide. Reflective cleaner may be used on the reflection areas of the lights.
Make sure the suctions are back together and in working order.
Prepare for the first case of the day. This includes instruments and equipment that are needed. Also obtain needed x-rays.
Begin opening your packs and instruments.
Assist scrub; ie. tie gown, count together, tum. Only radiopaque sponges may be put on the back table at the start of the case.
Saline should be placed on back table. If copious amounts of saline are to be used, they may be placed in one of the double basins put on the back table.
Inquire in the holding area for your patient. Check the following:
a) Identify the patient, verbally and with the armband.
b) Check the patient's chart for all necessary papers.
c) Ask the patient what procedure is to be done and which anatomical site.
d) Ask the patient about dentures, jewelry, metal, allergies, etc. Check the chart. Report at once anything unusual about the chart or patient.
e) Make sure a headcover is on the patient and proceed to the room.
f) Assist the patient onto the OR table. Untie gown strings, secure knee straps above the knees (if appropriate). and position on the table. Cover with warm blankets.
9. Assist the Anesthesiologist/ CRNA as needed. Never leave the room during induction; remain with the
patient at his/her side.
10. Check to see if the patient was properly shaved. Adjust the spotlights and proceed with skin prep.
11. Place cautery ground pad on the patient after positioned.
C. Responsibilities during any Operation:
Must know the Procedure and the surgeon.
Checking the room and equipment.
a) Bring in and arrange additional equipment that will be needed.
b) Make sure equipment is functioning properly.
c) Set up needle and instrument counts.
3. Obtain sterile supplies for procedure provided if scrub nurse has not done this.
4. Prepare and open equipment and supplies for the scrub nurse/tech.
a) Set up scrub nurse's gown and gloves.

5. Receive your patient.
a) Talk with the patient soon after he/she arrives in the OR-

d) Assist to OR table as necessary.
6. Prepare to assist the Anesthesia Department:
a) Never leave the patient alone once he/she is on the table.
b) Assist Anesthesia personnel with IV's and be available during induction to assist as needed.
7. Positioning the patient:
a) Final positioning is accomplished after anesthesia.
b) Have positioning accessories, cautery plates, etc., in readiness and follow the procedure for proper positioning.
c) Make sure all tubes are properly connected, lights positioned. Make final check to ensure that the patient is protected against pressure on nerves or impaired circulation.
8. Prep the patient according to specific procedure and Parkwest Surgery Center policy.
9. Assist and obser'1e for proper draping technique.
D. Duties at the Start of the Case:
Help the scrub move Mayo stand, back tables, basins and other equipment into proper placement.
Place footstool and/or sitting stools if procedure indicates.
Note incision time.
Attach suction, cautery, and pour saline and water into basin.
Place kick buckets.
Remain in the operating room at all times, unless properly relieved. If you must leave the room without relief, tell the scrub nurse where you are going, and return immediately.
If it is a local procedure, stay where the patient can see you.
Control the traffic and noise in your room.
a) Avoid unnecessary talk and movement.
b) Make sure persons entering your room are properly attired.
9. Watch the field
10. Keep the room in order.
a) Keep suture ends, sponges, etc., picked up off the floor.
b) Retrieve sponges and place in bags for counting as they are thrown in the kick buckets.
11. Keep sponges readily to count.
a) Make sure all sponges added to the case are properly counted.
12. Keep accurate and legible records.
a) Spell correctly.
b) Know the surgeon and assistant's names.
c) Ask surgeon what the preoperative diagnosis is. (It should be on the chart, but double check).
d) As surgeon begins to close, ask what the operative diagnosis is and what the procedure was. Make sure your records correspond with anesthesia records.
e) Ask the scrub tech/nurse or surgeon what the specimen is if you are not positive of its identity. Have labels ready for specimen containers
13. Be aware of emergence procedures should unforeseen situations arise.
14. Secure a suitable position so that all team members are visible-to be certain that aseptic technique is maintained throughout the procedure.
E. Duties after Surgery:
Assist with dressings.
a) Give sterile dressing materials to the scrub tech/nurse.
b) Have appropriate tape available.
c) Assist in securing the dressing.
d) Assist with casting materials when required.
2. Assist scrub team in taking off their gowns.
3. Bring recovery stretcher into the room.
4. Assist anesthesia personnel as needed.
a) Call the anesthesiologist to inform him/her that the case is finished.
b) Be available during extubation.
c) Have suction apparatus within reach.
d) Restrain the patient if necessary.
5. Keep patient from interfering with anesthesia equipment.
6. Maintain a safe position for the patient on the OR table.
7. Assist in moving the patient onto the recovery room stretcher.
a) Obtain patient roller and place on the recovery stretcher.
b) Secure help if required to move the patient safely.
c) Check to see that any catheters, suctions, LV. solutions, etc., are moved with the patient.
d) Obtain a warm blanket for the patient if necessary.
8. Assist the Anesthesiologist to move the patient to the post anesthetic recovery room.
9. Complete all paperwork and place in the appropriate area.

General Summary: The central supply technician is responsible for processing, maintaining and organization instruments, equipment and supplies used in surgery. JOB SUMMARY
The AR Specialist is an essential part of the TOA Central Business Office. As an AR Specialist, you will use your analytical, financial, and customer service skills to ensure that TOA claims filed to an insurance payer are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promptly identify any errors or other issues in claims processing.
Effectively following up on any unpaid balances.
Expeditiously bring any remaining balance to resolution.
Meet quality assurance and productivity standards by identifying and reconciling insurance balance accounts.
Identify denial trends and provide potential solutions while analyzing patient accounts utilizing our EPM system - Nextgen to determine appropriate action.
Review explanations of benefits details on denials.
Communicate with insurance payer representatives, patients, and TOA staff to ensure timely and accurate resolution of account transactions. This would include Commercial plans, Medicare/Medicare HMO plans, Medicaid/Medicaid HMO plans, and BCBSTN.
Prioritize assigned accounts to maximize aged accounts receivable resolution.
Review the explanation of benefit (EOB) documentation and notate accounts on collection activity to perform account resolution.
Operate within established guidelines and protocols, including providing backup documentation for our accounting and audit functions.
Collaborate closely with the Central Business Office, clinical colleagues, and administrative teammates to develop a cohesive, high-performing team.

Pulls old charts, if applicable, for the next day's PAT appointments.
Answers incoming calls and directs accordingly.
Runs pre-verification tickler for the next business day and completes any outstanding insurance verifications. Noting in applicable system.
Possesses a good working knowledge of the facility's Managed Care Grid and reimbursement.
Maintains a professional rapport with co-workers and physicians.
Works closely with pre-op staff regarding registration of patients and coordinates check in as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Hours: M-F 5:30am-2:00pm
Requirements
High school graduate. Business College 1-2 years preferred.
1-3 years in a related job field.

Perform satisfactory radiographic procedures as requested by physicians
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and produce quality radio graphs
Must be able to lift patients, and transport patients via wheelchair and stretcher
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanation of exams; answering patient questions
Prepares patient for radiographic procedure by proper patient dressing/ undressing, proper positioning, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting controls to set exposure factors
Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposures
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma required
Certificate or Associate/bachelor's degree in radiologic technology required
State of Tennessee Medical Board X-ray Operators License required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
ARRT certified
Must have surgery center experience or have worked in a surgery setting
Prior orthopedic x-ray experience, preferred
C-Arm experience is a plus
BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards and to be completed 90 days from hire.

The Therapy Patient Services Specialist is the friendly and helpful face of TOA - generally, the first person who interacts with our patients and their families as they arrive to their therapy appointments. The Therapy Patient Services Specialist sets the tone for a great patient visit by professionally and compassionately attending to the patients as they arrive for their appointment at TOA.
Demonstrate exceptional customer service and patient focus to make each encounter as positive as possible
Work closely with clinical colleagues and administrative team mates to develop a cohesive, high performing team
Verify patient demographic information upon arrival
Update and change insurance information as appropriate
Scan insurance cards and drivers licenses
Enter referrals into the computer and link it to the appropriate case
Collect co-payments, coinsurance's, deductibles, and balances
Prep daily clinics for upcoming appointments and print related documents
Create a record of the appointment, or an encounter and print
Ensure that all documentation is entered accurately and swiftly
Schedule follow-up appointments as necessary
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
At least one year medical office administration experience is preferred, with demonstrated success understanding some experience in an orthopaedic office a plus
Knowledge of healthcare insurance
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including experience with computer systems.
Experience with an EHR or NextGen is a plus
The ability to multi-task and maintain flexibility - including flexibility in work schedules to adjust to necessary clinic hours
An energetic and enthusiastic pace at work, with the ability to swiftly and accurately manage the flow of patients through the clinic, without any diminishing focus on patient care
Dependability, with a reliance on the capacity to be at work on-time, every day so our patients can receive the care they need in a timely manner
