(WSSI), a Davey company, offers? Each summer, we host a class of talented individuals pursuing degrees in the engineering, environmental, and science fields, and we are currently seeking great interns to join our Richmond, VA team for summer 2026. Interns will have the opportunity to work hands-on with WSSI's staff and learn from their expertise in the environmental consulting industry. Interns will rotate through different departments including environmental science, environmental assessment and remediation, hazmat, environmental compliance, and ecosystem restoration. Duties may include assisting with endangered species surveys and wetland delineations, invasive plant control, vegetation monitoring, erosion control, stormwater BMP maintenance, hazardous materials surveys and inspections for asbestos and lead, Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, soil and water sampling, facility compliance assessments, and oil spill plans. Not only will you gain hands-on experience with our field staff, interns will also participate in educational sessions to learn about all of WSSI's services across our various offices and disciplines. Interns will also participate in in-house training courses including plant identification, land navigation, and wetland delineation, and will work on their own plant identification project throughout the summer. Applicants should be interested in and understand wetland ecology as well as hazardous materials, and possess a strong work ethic with the desire to gain experience in different aspects of environmental consulting. This internship involves a large amount of outdoor work with rigorous physical labor and may occasionally involve working long hours. There may also be opportunities for overnight travel. Interns will have the opportunity to work hands-on with WSSI's staff and learn from their expertise in the environmental consulting industry. Interns will rotate through different departments including environmental science, environmental assessment and remediation, hazmat, environmental compliance, and ecosystem restoration. Duties may include assisting with endangered species surveys and wetland delineations, invasive plant control, vegetation monitoring, erosion control, stormwater BMP maintenance, hazardous materials surveys and inspections for asbestos and lead, Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, soil and water sampling, facility compliance assessments, and oil spill plans. Not only will you gain hands-on experience with our field staff, interns will also participate in educational sessions to learn about all of WSSI's services across our various offices and disciplines. Interns will also participate in in-house training courses including plant identification, land navigation, and wetland delineation, and will work on their own plant identification project throughout the summer. Applicants should be interested in and understand wetland ecology as well as hazardous materials, and possess a strong work ethic with the desire to gain experience in different aspects of environmental consulting. This internship involves a large amount of outdoor work with rigorous physical labor and may occasionally involve working long hours. There may also be opportunities for overnight travel.
