Your Key Responsibilities * Provide engineering support for projects involving erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management. * Works with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/designer. * Drafting, computer modeling, data entry, assistance with preparation of construction plans and specifications, quality control review of client construction storm water documentation. * Assist in the preparation of design concept plans, permit packages, work plans, tables, figures, hydraulic calculations, erosion and sediment control plans, and associated post-construction stormwater management plans, and present information for quality review. * Assist in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable regulations, codes and engineering standards and practices. * Complete other engineering/administrative duties as required. * Respect and assist our clients by being responsive and reliable. * Safety is a priority at Stantec. Your Capabilities and Credentials * Understanding of water and environmental related principles and engineering concepts, including related hydraulics and hydrologic (H&H) principles and concepts. * The ability to effectively communicate ideas and opinions. * Be proficient in interpreting sketches, drawings, and other similar material. * Be conscientious, detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and disciplined. * Build and maintain productive professional and personal networking relationships within your technical team. * Relevant office or field experience is a plus. Examples: Construction Surveying, Field Surveying, Field Sampling, Drafting. * Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Education and Experience * Currently pursuing or graduated with a minimum of a four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preference towards students pursuing emphasis areas of Environmental, Agricultural, or Civil Engineering) with a focus on ecological engineering and/or geomorphology preferred. * Relevant co-op / internships and work experience during school will be considered. * Experience using HEC-RAS, and AutoCAD a plus. * Valid driver's license. Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
