1980

The David Yurman brand launched in 1980, with David and Sybil Yurman committing themselves to crafting jewelry that also functioned as works of art.

1996

1997

David Yurman soon became known for its unconventional use of materials, for example in 1997 they were the first major jewelry designer to set diamonds in sterling silver jewelry.

1999

Brodsky, Renatt, "Fighting Copycats is a Yurman Task," in Daily News Record, 19 November 1999.

The Midnight Ice Collection, introduced in 1999, featured diamonds and black onyx set in sterling silver and 18-karat gold.

2001

In 2001 Yurman launched the Women's Thoroughbred Watch Collection, featuring soft pastels of green and pink with black and white dials.

2003

In 2003, their son, Evan Yurman joined the company.
