The candidate must possess the requisite skills, experience, and abilities to lead discussions, grade seminar contributions and papers, and mentor U.S. military, foreign military and DOD and interagency civilian personnel enrolled in the CSCDEP seminars. The program is executed over two academic years, with faculty teaching four associated courses (a total of 35 weeks of seminar) during each academic year. The first year includes courses 8901 (Theory and Nature of War), 8902 (National and International Security Studies), 8903 (Operational Art) and 8904 (Joint Operations). The second year covers courses 8905 (Small Wars), 8906 (MAGTF Expeditionary Operations), 8907 (Naval Expeditionary Operations) and 8908 (Operation Planning). All courses are offered once a year in onsite, online (synchronous) and online (asynchronous) formats. Mandatory Faculty Qualifications: Field grade officer or civilian who is an ILS, SAW, or TLS graduate. Desired Faculty Qualifications: First Academic Year (8901-8904) o Master's degree from an accredited college. o Military or DOD background. o Joint Qualified Officer or Joint duty background. o Socratic teaching experience. o Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) (e.g., Moodle).
