QUALIFICATIONS * CPR/AED/First Aid certificates preferred. CPR/AED/First Aid course will be offered to hired applicants. All new hires must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified before the start of camp. * Successful completion of criminal background check and Child Abuse & Neglect screening. * Minimum age requirement is 16 years old and completed 10th grade by start of employment. Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Hours may vary. Must be available for mandatory training and available to work the entire duration of day camp program.

Position Description The National Building Museum is looking for an energetic and hard-working individuals to bring the fun to summer camp this year! Reporting to the Manager of Youth & Community Programs (Manager), the Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for planning, implementing, and teaching the Museum's Summer Camp program. As part of a camp team (6 Counselors) within the Education Department, the Camp Counselors will organize and teach a variety of small and large group activities each week, be responsible for the safety, care, and wellbeing of 2nd to 5th graders and supervise additional camp activities such as lunch and recess. This is a summer position with a start date of June 25th through August 15, 2025. Before the start of the camp the hours will be 9am to 3pm for June 25-27, and 9am to 1pm for June 30-July 3. NBM's summer camps will run for six consecutive weeks from July 7 to August 15, Monday-Friday. Counselors will be scheduled for four of the six camps which will be coordinated by the Manager. During the camp weeks, Counselors' hours will vary from 8am to 4 pm or 8:30am to 5:30pm depending on the aftercare schedule. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Modify current curriculum to personal teaching style, classroom dynamics, and camper needs/abilities. Assist with planning and implementation of camp programming for an assigned group of summer camp children. * Responsible for daily prep, set up, and clean up. * Build a responsive classroom/camp environment, modifying lessons as appropriate. * Collaborate with camp team (other Counselors, Manager of Youth and Community Programs, and other Education team staff) on topics, materials, behavior management, and parent communication. * Establish and enforce clear behavior expectations for campers, then identify and respond to camper behavior issues appropriately as they arise. The Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR) Gymnastics Camp is seeking Camp Instructors and Assistants to support camp programs and instruct campers ages 6-9 years old in beginner-intermediate level gymnastics skills. Responsibilities Job Duties: Teaching gymnastics skills, managing gymnastics rotations, overseeing camp activities such as crafts, games (inside/outside), water day, and other activities as scheduled; Supervising campers, snacks, and special visits; Preparing for camp activities, completing attendance reports, completing camp paperwork Setting up and breaking down equipment before and after camp, including inspecting and reporting unsafe equipment.
