Performs the clerical duties and facilitates the smooth functioning of the patient care flow. Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities * Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checks in patients, assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations. * Accurately transcribes physicians' orders, completes all necessary forms, requisitions, and communications required to implement orders. * Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities. * Performs routine specialized procedures, which could include sterile dressing changes under established protocols. Medical Assistant Required Skills and Qualifications Education: * High School diploma or equivalent required. * Current CPR training required. * Successful completion of CMA or CNA Program preferred. * Completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred. Experience: * One to three years' experience in clinical position preferred. * Prior computer experience required. * One to three years' experience as a nursing or medical assistant or in a related field preferred. POSITION SUMMARY: The Nurse Aide performs activities which assist the patient in meeting basic human needs and activities of daily living under the direction of the RN or LPN. Performs additional competencies to enhance coordination and collaboration of patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN. Ensures accurate and clear communication to patients, families, and other employees at all times, assisting with other duties as needed to maintain a safe and clean environment. Maintains an accurate medical record. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: * High School graduate or equivalent. * Successful completion of certified nursing assistant program is preferred but not required.
