Performs the clerical duties and facilitates the smooth functioning of the patient care flow. Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities * Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checks in patients, assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations. * Accurately transcribes physicians' orders, completes all necessary forms, requisitions, and communications required to implement orders. * Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities. * Performs routine specialized procedures, which could include sterile dressing changes under established protocols. Medical Assistant Required Skills and Qualifications Education: * High School diploma or equivalent required. * Current CPR training required. * Successful completion of CMA or CNA Program preferred. * Completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred. Experience: * One to three years' experience in clinical position preferred. * Prior computer experience required. * One to three years' experience as a nursing or medical assistant or in a related field preferred.
