An Agency Respite Care Provider is responsible for providing non-medical personal care, assistance and companionship for clients who require supervision for reason of developmental disabilities, intellectual deficiencies, or other health-related conditions.
Essential Job Functions:
Assistance with clients' Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Ambulation, Transfers & Gait AssistanceProvides hands-on and/or stand-by assistance to ensure that client transfers and ambulates safely (includes assistance with the proper use of ambulation aids, such as walkers, wheelchairs, gait belts, etc.).
Grooming and Hygiene- Provides client hands-on and/or stand-by assistance with general hygiene and other grooming activities (washing hands & face, etc.).
Meal Preparation/Nutritional Support- Follows nutritional and meal planning guidelines to assist with preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or snacks to ensure proper nutritional intake.
Dressing- Provides hands-on and/or stand-by assistance with changes of client's clothing as needed.
Toileting- May include assisting on/off toilet or commode; assisting with use of urinal or bedpan; changing diapers/briefs; and ensuring cleanliness as needed.
Engages client in appropriate conversations (caregiver is to avoid personal disclosures about self, and
discussions about client's family).
If parents request, teach, train and encourage client to do perform tasks and learn skills as directed
Entertains client by reading newspapers or books, playing memory games, completing puzzles, etc.
Follow parent instruction's in working and dealing with client's behavioral issues, i.e. re-direction, avoidance, withdrawal, and aggression.
Compliance with agency policies related to all areas of privacy and confidentiality, including HIPAA laws

What Your Days Will be Like:
As a Caregiver within our Care for Business team, you will have the opportunity to care for children of multiple families in your area! You will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the children under your care. Position Summary: The Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides care to complex acute, critical and chronically ill patients and manages the plan of care. The APP is experienced and works autonomously, as well as in collaboration with other health care professionals, to diagnose and manage patients' acute and chronic health care needs. APP patient coverage requires regularly scheduled nights, including weekends, holidays and on-call obligations. The nocturnist position is a full-time night commitment with a reduction in total number of hours per month when compared to day team members.
The Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU) is a sophisticated 58-bed unit that provides a complete range of medical and surgical services for neonates and infants with the most complex conditions. Our unit serves as a regional referral center for the western United States as well as an international referral center. Our specialized programs include Fetal & Neonatal Surgery, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Whole-Body Therapeutic Hypothermia, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, complex surgical specialties, highly specialized ventilatory support & home ventilation program, Newborn Follow-Up, and more.
Job Responsibilities:

Analyzes the indications, contraindications, risk of complications and cost-benefits of therapeutic interventions.

Facilitates the patient's transitions between and within health care settings.
Serves as an educational resource to the patient/family, nursing staff, and provider team. Acts as a consultant to multidisciplinary health care team members.

Administer and accurately document initial and ongoing child development observations using screening and assessment tools at established intervals.
Review and carry out health plans for special diets, allergies, medication administration, etc.
Partner with parents to develop educational and family goals and update regularly.
Assist the site supervisor with periodic observations of assigned staff to evaluate job performance, maintain appropriate documentation, and meet timelines set by the HR department.
Assist children and families with transition into and out of the existing program option.
Participate in regularly scheduled case conferencing sessions, staff meetings, parent meetings, parent-caregiver conferences, Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) meetings, home visits, in-service training, and other meetings as directed.
Contribute to a healthy and successful nutrition program by eating center prepared meals with the children.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Required Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Minimum of 12 completed units in child development or early childhood education (ECE) which includes at least three units in infant/toddler care and the following three courses: child/human growth & development; child/family & community or child and family relations; and programs curriculum (All course work must be completed with a grade of C or better to receive credit).
A California state-awarded child development associate teacher permit or higher.
Those
hired without the permit must qualify for and apply within 60 days of hire, renew prior to expiration, and maintain active as a condition of employment.
(Degree in child/human development or early childhood education may substitute for the state-awarded permit.)
Minimum six (6) months of verifiable paid or volunteer work experience in a preschool setting or as an infant/toddler teacher or caregiver.
Preferred Criteria/Knowledge: Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills. Six (6) infant/toddler course units. Experience with infants/toddlers in a group setting and/or training in Resources for Infant Educators (RIE), or in the Infant Toddler Caregivers (PITC) model.
Those hired with only three (3) infant toddler units will be required to enroll in and complete an additional three (3) units within one (1) year (12 months) of hire date as a condition of employment.
Knowledge and Abilities: Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Sensitive towards multi-cultural beliefs and practices. Ability to relate to children of high-risk families and their parents. Ability to maintain accurate records and submit in a timely manner. Ability to work as a member of the team. Flexibility and ability to plan and supervise caregiver staff. Provide leadership and guidance to assistants and parents. Ability to problem solve and organize. Ability to speak before a small group. Knowledge of various community resource agencies to support children and families for immediate or long-term assistance.

Job Description
The Site Attendant plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for clients. This position is responsible for enforcing facility rules, assisting with client needs, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and safety of the site. Duties include regular sanitation of high-touch areas, general cleaning of the facility, and following health and safety protocols. The Site Attendant also supports client intakes and discharges, performs routine room checks, and responds to immediate client or facility concerns. By maintaining high standards of cleanliness and care, the Site Attendant helps promote the health, safety, and well-being of all residents.
The starting pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for $1.00 swing shift differential and $2.00 graveyard shift differential. The schedule for this role is 7:00am to 3:30pm, Friday - Tuesday.
Responsibilities
Client Care & Support
Assist with client intakes and outtakes by preparing client bed area and ensuring bedding and surrounding areas are clean and ready prior to client arrival. Enforce client site rules and policies during admission and discharge.
Conduct routine wellness checks and facility walk-throughs (minimum of every 2 hours) to monitor client safety, behavior, and overall welfare. Intervene using de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques as necessary.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled searches of client belongings to ensure compliance with site rules and to prevent prohibited items from entering the facility.
Pick up client medications from pharmacies and assist with client move-outs, including the packing of belongings and final room sanitation.
Perform any other duties assigned by leadership to support client care and facility operations.
Meal Preparation & Food Safety
Prepare and serve balanced meals to clients in accordance with food safety standards (e.g., proper food storage, temperature control, hand hygiene, and cross-contamination prevention).
Sanitize all kitchen surfaces and equipment before and after every meal service, including countertops, prep areas, cutting boards, and utensils.
Ensure dining areas are cleaned and disinfected after every meal, including tables, chairs, and serving stations.
Sanitation & Housekeeping
Maintain a sanitary environment using universal precautions, including proper PPE usage and the safe handling/disposal of bodily fluids. Follow biohazard protocols when cleaning up spills or contamination.
Perform routine janitorial duties daily, including:
Sweeping and mopping all floors (client rooms, hallways, kitchen).
Vacuuming carpeted areas.
Emptying trash bins and replacing liners.
Cleaning windows, walls, and vents weekly or as needed.
Conduct deep cleaning of client dorms/rooms weekly or upon discharge, including disinfecting mattresses, wiping down all surfaces, laundering linens, and checking for pests or damage.
Transportation & Vehicle Maintenance
Drive clients to and from scheduled appointments and program activities, ensuring timely and safe transport in compliance with organizational protocols.
Maintain daily transportation logs, noting mileage, trip purposes, and any issues during transit.
Inspect company vehicles before each use and report maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
Clean and sanitize high-touch areas in vehicles (steering wheel, seatbelts, door handles, gear shift, dashboard) before and after each use.
Minimum Qualifications/Preferred Experience:
Required
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in spreadsheets.
Valid CA Driver's License, 5 years of clean DMV record, and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
Preferred
