All residents have open Child and Family Service cases in the County of Orange. These mothers are working to reunify with their children while at the same time addressing their histories with addiction and mental health. Our treatment team works closely with Orange County Social Services, Orange County Mental Health and Family Court to ensure successful case plan completion and reunification. Clients receive substance abuse counseling and education, counseling and education in parenting and life skills as well as individual and group therapy for both mothers and children. The goal for our clients is that they graduate with custody of their children, affordable housing and a steady income. The Childcare Parenting Specialist will assist with the Parenting Skills Program, a family centered program, which has the goal of helping parents to provide a healthy and safe environment for their children and to maximize their children's emotional and cognitive development. Benefits: Flexible schedule Training & development Extended Care Attendant Reports To: Extended Care Director The extended care team supervises and engages TK-8th grade students throughout the school day when they are not in class; either at recess, in morning/afternoon care, or during school breaks/summer. This role involves supervising students, promoting positive behavior, and responding to any conflicts or incidents that arise. Extended Care Attendants play a vital role in creating a safe and inclusive environment where children can engage in active play and social interaction. This is a part-time non-exempt position for approximately 20 hours per week. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To: Extended Care: Supervise students, ensuring that they follow safety procedures and stay in the areas designated Check students in and out with parents Engage with students in age appropriate play and conversations. Assist in resolving conflicts between students using conflict resolution strategies Encourage inclusive play and engagement among students. Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding student behavior and concern Recess Attendant: Ensure that playground equipment and areas are used properly and remain safe for student use. Maintain visual contact with groups of students at recess, ensuring the students are engaged in appropriate activities and stay within designated areas. Sit with students for lunch, encouraging conversation and being inclusive of all students. Enforce school rules and encourage positive behavior among students. Report any incidents, injuries, or concerns to leadership needed. Provide first aid or seek assistance in case of injuries. Assist students in transitioning to and from recess in an orderly manner. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required, degree in childcare related field preferred Experience working with children preferred CPR and First Aid Certification A personal faith in Jesus Christ that informs a sense of vocation Schedule Extended Care is typically open at 7:00 am and closes at 5:00 pm on school days. Shifts can vary throughout the day based on recess and lunch schedules as well as enrollment in before/afterschool care. Shifts often include either opening or closing. Extended Care team is expected to work during Christmas break, spring break, and summer. Work Environment Extended Care Attendants will work in spaces such as the school playgrounds, gymnasiums, and parking lots. Outdoor environments may include inclement weather. Position can require periods of standing and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Evaluation Evaluation will take place at the end of the first three months of employment and in the spring of each school year.
