Job Overview
The Home Coordinator is responsible for providing direction and guidance to direct care staff caring for clients with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a supported living or community-based environment. This includes responsibility for the activities of staff and the whereabouts of all clients under their supervision at all times; as delineated in the ISP and ensuring that required documentation (i.e., client notes, community-based notes, administration records, client financial records, and vehicle logs, etc.) is completed in an accurate, thorough and timely manner. Incumbents are on call twenty-four hours a day and must respond in a timely manner to unexpected events and/or emergencies with clients under their care. The Home Coordinator is also expected to provide direct client care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, and directs the care of clients.
Support related to outcomes and the support and supervision of the individual will be monitored to assure that the overall supports provided are in adherence with the individuals person centered plan.
Monitors the client care activities of direct support staff.
Monitors Individual Support Plans and delivery of client care plans as appropriate; takes actions as appropriate to ensure Standards of Care are met; participates in quality improvement process
May assist with determining staffing schedules, staffing levels, and staff schedules in coordination with the Program Manager.
Assures that staffing patterns developed are in adherence with the team recommendation and PAWS Allocation.
Responsible for preventing client abuse by adhering to all policies and procedures, attending periodic training, reporting suspicious and inappropriate behavior, and following mandatory abuse reporting requirements.
Complete administrative and clerical documentation including but not limited to reviewing daily logs and notes detailing client activities supporting the approved Individual Support Plan (ISP) that support services billed through Medicaid HCB Waiver Program.
Assures safe operation of all equipment in the house by completing routine site monitoring reports.
Plan and organize daily activities in accordance with Individual Support Plan.
Provides direct client care, including transportation, maintenance of household inventory, menu planning and preparation, etc.
Provides weekly oversight of individuals' finances by providing direct assistance with managing personal funds (personal ledger, petty cash in home and receipts). Reports any signs of misappropriation, exploitation, or financial impropriety regarding individual funds to the County Board through Unusual Incident (UI) reports and to his or her direct supervisor (PM)
Maintain and schedule medical appointments. Complete all follow-ups including maintaining the Appointments in Advisor and attaching related relevant documents.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
One-year supervisory experience working with developmentally, intellectually and/or physically disabled individuals preferred.
Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations
Valid Indiana Driver's License Required
Valid Automobile Insurance Required
CPR and First Aid. (Provided if not already acquired)
Knowledge and Skills
Requires extensive mental activities including the ability to: use educated and intuitive judgment, advise, counsel, influence, debate, negotiate, organize, plan, and synthesize concepts.
Ability to work in a demanding environment.
Must be able to make wise decisions under stressful circumstances.

JOB SUMMARY: The Christel House DORS Drop In Childcare is designed to offer free, temporary, short-term childcare for the students of Christel House DORS. Our ultimate goal is for the parents/guardians to work with Drop In Childcare staff to apply for CCDF vouchers or On My Way Pre-K to secure long term, high quality childcare if qualified. DORS students may use the drop in childcare center only while on site, attending a Christel House class, training, or program. Parents/guardians remain on campus while their child(ren) are in the drop in childcare.
The Drop In Childcare Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe, caring, and positive experience for all children in the drop in center and their families. They will be an active collaborator with other DORS staff, providing the DORS team with data on attendance, CCDF applications, etc. The attendant monitors the safety and well-being of children while in their care, while facilitating learning opportunities for the students. The attendance is responsible for communicating with parents/guardians about drop in childcare center events, activities, policies and procedures.
HOURS: This is a PRN (as needed) position.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum 18 years of age.
* Continuing education credits, certification or degree in early childhood education, child development, education, or a related field preferred.
* Child/Infant CPR certified or willing to obtain before start date.
* Previous work experience in a childcare facility.
* Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
* Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
* All Christel House staff must successfully pass a pre-employment background check as they are directly caring for minors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to stand for long periods of time.
* Ability to reach with hands and arms.
* Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
