MSHN also offers enhanced and medically fragile housing services to those individuals who have complex behavioral issues and/or medical issues in addition to mental illness. These services include treatment and nursing and/or physician professionals. We are not just a group home, we are a full-service supportive living program. RESIDENT SAFETY: Ensure residents are safe and not in the way of danger at any time. Proper Supervision of residents at all times and performing necessary checks. Never leave any residents by themselves or in a situation where they would be unsupervised. De-escalate residents to maintain group safety and help them regain self-control. Immediately report any unsafe environmental circumstances. Read and be familiar with fire and other natural disaster evacuation plans. PROFESSIONALISM: Be receptive to supervisory feedback, recognize your own weaknesses, and identify ways to strengthen them. Is responsible for promptly reporting to the charge nurse or administrative staff incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents' rights. Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated and proper disposal of soiled materials. Also providing care that maintains each resident's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents and by applying moisturizers to fragile skin and other areas. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
