Assist Child Care Supervisor in providing a multi-cultural and special needs awareness in the classroom environment and lesson plans.
Attend staff meetings and in-service training as required.

Physical Demands

Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 18 preferred. Six months experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements. Maintains all department specific required certifications. When applicable, may need a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Iowa: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained.
Minnesota: Must have nursing assistant certification, have completed the 75-hour course and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. Successful completion of a state-approved Trained Medication Assistant course.
North Dakota: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained. If working in an Assisted Living or Basic Care facility, Medication Assistant I certification required. If working in a skilled nursing facility, Medication Assistant II certification is required.

Ensure safe care for children under supervision. For the school-age child, it means a staff member responsible for caring for or teaching children being available for assistance and care so that the child's health and safety is protected.

Assist Child Care Supervisor in implementation of age-appropriate classroom activities and lesson plans which meet National Academy for the Education of Young Children standards; utilize the Stimulating Maturity through Accelerated Readiness Training (S.M.A.R.T.)/Boost-Up, Creative Curriculum and other curriculum plans as determined by the Special Needs Coordinator(s), Child Care Supervisor, Coordinator, and Director of Program Operations.

Work cooperatively with staff; reports staff conflicts in a timely manner.
Assist Child Care Supervisor in providing a multi-cultural and special needs awareness in the classroom environment and lesson plans.
Attend staff meetings and in-service training as required.

Job Description
Knowledge of and delivers appropriate age-related care related to the physical and psychological needs of adult and geriatric residents per plans of care. An essential communication link with resident assistants. Provides hands on care to residents and works with additional resources to plan and deliver care for all residents in their household. Plays a key role in the resident admission process, orientation of new staff and students, and data collection on performance indicators. Performs tasks delegated by the supervising nurse as well as other managers in the blended household. Providesassistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned resident. Responsible for maintenance of the household environment during his/her scheduled shift. Assists the resident in transferring, re-positioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment and provides range of motion and passive exercises. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate. Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations. Documents the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary. Communicates changing condition, medication follow-up and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse. Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 18 preferred. Six months experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements. Maintains all department specific required certifications. When applicable, may need a valid driver's license and auto insurance. Iowa: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained. Minnesota: Must have nursing assistant certification, have completed the 75-hour course and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
