Keys in important consumer data to schedule appointments, inquire about benefits and for reimbursement purposes
May file, release and copy protected healthcare information
Answers phone calls, transfers to the appropriate parties, is courteous to the public, assists consumers with fee setting, benefit information, scheduling, sharing of other resources.
Supervisory Responsibilities: May be asked to periodically oversee staff or lead by the Practice Manager.

Physical Requirements
Works in the Call Center, but also areas including patient care units, emergency rooms, individual offices, and conference areas with exposure to potentially hostile patients. Work requires frequent moving from one area to another, answering telephones, and coordinating and communicating with other staff persons in various disciplines and agencies.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Master's degree in a relevant human services field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited school of graduate education required or an Associate's degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Provides face-to-face or virtual assessment as required using necessary clinical skills while meeting all regulatory requirements to ensure reimbursement for services.
Service delivery may also involve consultation with hospital staff, law enforcement, family members or support network as deemed necessary or clinically appropriate in addition to brief crisis counseling. Provides indirect services (e.g., case management and supportive services) to place a patient into a secure inpatient setting. Additionally, completes TCM assessments with TCM-eligible clients.
Provide Crisis follow up interventions as needed to consumers who have received assessment and crisis services and require follow up to ensure they do not return to a state of crisis and are able to access appropriate non-crisis services.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Consults with other local providers and answering services by telephone and occasionally takes out involuntary petition at the local magistrate's office when necessary.
Units Billed Minimum Requirement:
There are 15 units per week (3 assessments per day) of productivity standard to meet, and 4 hours of billable services per day. The clinician is expected to collect the necessary information needed for reimbursement for the assessments that are done by the clinician. The clinician is also expected to finalize appropriate documentation within 24 hours of the assessment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None unless supervising a student and/or training a co-worker.

Education and/or Experience: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, counseling, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited college or university and licensed eligible or provisionally licensed in their perspective field. Applicants with master's degrees who are provisionally licensed or licensed eligible as clinical social workers, clinical mental health counselors, substance abuse counselors and marriage and family counselors will be given consideration for employment. Crisis experience is preferred, but not required.
