Candidates must be board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. This is a fulltime (0.8 FTE) employed position with competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package. This position will cover the behavioral health unit and weekends Saturday and Sunday. Provider will have five weekends off a year. This is a new opportunity for staffing the new free-standing behavioral health building currently under construction opening in 2025. This new building will allow the hospital to double the number of behavioral health inpatient beds currently available at Dayton Children's, allow expansion for specialized program development and allow for strengthened and smoother continuity of care by bringing behavioral health inpatient, outpatient and crisis services all under one roof. The applicant should be CAQ certified in pediatric radiology or neuroradiology, with fellowship or practice experience in pediatric neuroradiology. Centered within the Department of Radiology, the Imaging Innovation and Research Office (IRO) is the core imaging resource for principal investigators. The department's internal Pediatric Advanced Imaging Resource (PAIR) is a 3D image post-processing (including 3D-printing) and data analysis lab for both clinical care and advanced image analysis for research. The department serves as the academic teaching hospital for pediatric radiology for The Ohio State University Radiology Residency Program and for the Department of Pediatrics of The Ohio State University College of Medicine and has 4 pediatric fellowships available - General Diagnostic, Interventional, Cardio-Thoracic, and Neuro. Numerous opportunities for research, innovation, and education are afforded by the department and hospital as well. The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will be clinical, providing neuroimaging care as part of a collegial team of 6 neuroradiologists, using state of the art imaging equipment with advanced software packages, and with clinical providers committed to their patients via a one team approach. We encourage applications from trainees completing their fellowship in 2026 as well as practicing pediatric radiologists. Remote or hybrid arrangements can be considered. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Preoperative Assessment/Evaluation - Conduct preoperative evaluation. * Equipment - Prepare appropriate equipment for administration of anesthesia. Process involves, but is not limited to, checking machines, appropriate small equipment, blood pressure cuffs, endotracheal tubes, and drugs for the conduit of anesthesia. Report any malfunctioning equipment. * Intraoperative Clinical Care - Administer anesthesia only under the direct supervision of a faculty or staff physician anesthesiologist. Administer anesthesia, giving drugs and monitoring vital signs and other indicators of anesthesia's effects on patients. The regular, frequent and accurate recording of patient's condition during and immediately following the administration of anesthetic drugs is required. * Postoperative Follow-up - Conduct postoperative follow-up in consultation with the attending anesthesiologist. Accompany the patient to the PACU assuring that the patient's condition is optimal. Visit in-house with the patient within 24 - 48 hours following anesthesia to assess post-anesthetic recovery. * Research - With the approval of the Department of Anesthesiology's Research Committee, direct and/or facilitate the development of research projects within the Department and/or the Medical Center. This is a unique opportunity for pediatricians with a gap year or those considering a Neonatology Fellowship to practice in the NICU setting while expanding their clinical skills.
