Carolina Air Care is a CAMTS accredited critical care and emergency transportation agency serving North Carolina and surrounding areas since 1986. Our assets are comprised of four helicopters as well as a fleet of ambulances dispatched by our communications center "Flightwatch" - all operating 24 hours a day.
Helicopter bases are located in Burlington, Aberdeen, Goldsboro, and Rocky Mount. Rotor wing aircraft are staffed with one nurse and one paramedic. They respond to both emergency scene requests as well as interfacility transfers of critically ill patients Our ground assets are located throughout the Triangle.
In addition to the Critical Care Transport teams for the majority of our missions, we also have two dedicated Neonatal Specialty Care Teams, which care for our smallest patients.

Summary:
Provide safe and timely ground transport of patients, while also providing basic and advanced life support care to patients.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitors patient condition during ground transport to provide optimal stabilization.
2. Monitors communication equipment and communicates with dispatch personnel, medical staff, family members and other stakeholders: * Ensures relevant information is collected and proper treatment is administered. * Communicates assessments and plan of care in a professional manner with the appropriate personnel.
3. Documents patients' status, delivery of care and evaluation of the patients' response to care according to unit specific procedures and established protocols.
4. Contacts physicians for guidance, as needed, and follows treatment protocols as described by UNC Hospitals Critical Care Transport Medical Direction.
5. Operates medical and mechanical equipment in the pre-hospital, hospital and transport environment. Ensures all various medical equipment is functioning; restocks medical supplies as needed
6. Obtains direction regarding further care from medical staff. Delivers emergency care, such as CPR, oxygen, bandaging and splinting to patients, in accordance with reestablish protocols under UNC Hospitals Critical Care Transport Medical Direction, if necessary.
7. Participates in plan of care for patients who are acutely ill and require transport from referring institutions.

Responsible for assisting with patient care as requested to include loading and unloading, operation of commonly used equipment and providing family members information/directions to Duke.
Responsible for providing direct patient care on ALS I, ALS II or BLS transports, not to exceed beyond the scope of The Paramedic as defined by the NCOEMS and approved by local medical direction, and documenting in the electronic medical record.
Responsible for replenishing oxygen and medical supplies used during transport.
Demonstrates safe driving skills and ability to use technology to complete missions safely.
Assist with continuing education outreach programs and public relations events as assigned.
Provide staffing coverage to all bases as needed. Assist units within Duke University Hospital when necessary.

One year ALS Paramedic experience required, preferred two to three years prehospital experience with a moderate call volume (>15,000 calls/year) 911 agency.
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
Current certification as a North Carolina Paramedic or have the ability to obtain certification in the State of North Carolina.
Current trauma course preferred: PHTLS, BTLS or ITLS
BLS, ACLS, and PALS, required.

The Emergency Department is a designated Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center serving as North Carolina's primary referral hospital as well as serving communities in Orange County. The staff collaboratively operate as a unified team across two distinct units- the Main ED (adults) and the Pediatric ED (children)-providing care for patients of all ages from neonates to geriatrics. The UNC Medical Center has a separate, dedicated Psych Emergency Department which works closely with our larger Emergency Department.
Summary:
Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
1. Education - Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. With assistance, uses patient education materials relevant to patient population. Assesses readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers. Assesses developmental level of patient and factors affecting ability to learn.

LOCATION: Lancaster, PA - Lancaster General Hospital
HOURS: Part Time (20 hours per week). Evenings (11am-3am). On-call requirements. Rotating weekends and holidays.
Each day our Emergency Department treats 300 to 400 patients with chronic and acute issues, ruling out life threatening conditions and intervening when necessary to stop the progression of acute processes. The team sees everything from sore throats, ear infections, lacerations and broken bones, to more serious conditions like stroke, heart attack, cardiac arrest, and traumatic injuries from motor vehicle and farming accidents, gunshot wounds and stabbings. Lancaster General Hospital, a Level I-accredited Trauma Center, recently completed a major expansion and remodel of the ED that nearly doubled the size of the department, from 63 beds to 95 beds. This includes 10 beds in our updated and expanded behavioral health unit, and 13 dedicated pediatric beds.
