1992

December 12, 1992 USS Barry was commissioned during a ceremony at Naval Station Pascagoula, Miss.

1994

21, 1994, the Barry was underway for Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX), as part of USS George Washington (CVN 73) Battle Group; Port visit to St Croix, United States Virgin Islands, from Feb.

1996

January 26, 1996 USS Barry departed Norfolk for its second Mediterranean deployment, as part of the USS George Washington (CVN 73) Battle Group.

2001

April 18, 2001 DDG 52 departed homeport for a two-day underway to conduct sea trials, following a four-month maintenance availability; Underway for routine training off the coast of Virginia on May 17.

2004

January 12, 2004 USS Barry departed Norfolk for an 11-day underway in the Virginia Capes Op.

2006

February 10, 2006 The Barry departed homeport to participate in a coalition course in the North Atlantic with ships from the United Kingdom, Germany, and Denmark; Inport Faslane, Scotland, from March ?-11.

2010

April 2, 2010 USS Barry moored at HMNB Portsmouth, England, for a scheduled port call before participating in a multinational exercise Joint Warrior 10-1; Moored at HMNB Clyde in Faslane, Scotland, from April 2?-25.

2012

July 10, 2012 The guided-missile destroyer recently completed an Extended Drydocking Selected Restricted Availability (E-DSRA) at the General Dynamics NASSCO shipyard in Norfolk, Va.

2014

September 27, BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair, Norfolk, Va., was awarded a $40 million modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-10-C-4308) for the USS Barry's Extended Selected Restricted Availability (E-SRA). Work is expected to be completed by October 2014.

2016

January 12, 2016 USS Barry departed Norfolk for a homeport change to Yokosuka, Japan.

2017

February 2, 2017 USS Barry departed homeport for a routine patrol in the South China Sea; Anchored off Yokosuka for ammo onload from Feb.

2020

January 10, 2020 USS Barry conducted a replenishment-at-sea with the USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE 7), while underway in the Philippine Sea; Moored at Berth 3, Sierra Wharf in Apra Harbor, Guam, from Jan.

2022

January 19, 2022 USS Barry departed Fleet Activities Yokosuka for routine training; Moored outboard the USS Howard at HMP West on Jan.
