The PCT will assist with procedure room turnover (patient transport, cleaning room, assisting staff, etc), in the scope reprocessing area, and with patient care in pre/post procedure areas.

The Observation Unit at the Gateway Campus is a 32-bed unit where patients can be observed, treated, and diagnosed. Based on test results, a patient will either be admitted to another inpatient unit or discharged within an 8-24 hour window. Clinical staff will have the opportunity to care for a wide range of diagnoses while demonstrating critical thinking and time management skills in a fast paced environment. As part of the Observation Unit, staff will work closely with patients and families in a rewarding environment by coordinating results and communicating with the Deaconess Care Team.

The Midtown Cardiac Neuro unit is a 19-bed unit specializing in the care of the Cardiac, Neuro, and ICU Stepdown patient. It is a blended scope unit with 8 beds designated for stepdown. This unit cares for complex medical surgical patients, cardiac patients, stroke patients, sepsis and other diagnoses including patients requiring close monitoring. Our patient population offers a great variety of learning opportunities related to cardiac rhythms and EKG's, medication drips with titration, bedside cardioversions, and NIH stroke scale. We welcome new and experienced staff and enjoy teaching. We have an organized and structured orientation process with frequent check-ins from our leadership team.
