As an urgent care Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.
Job Overview
Provides general clinical assistance by preparing equipment, administering medication by mouth as ordered and aiding primary clinicians (physicians, nurse practitioner or physician assistant) during treatment and examination of patients. Assures that the patient treatment areas are clean and stocked. Assists with patient testing and assessment functions as assigned.
Job Duties include the following, other duties may be assigned:
* Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension.
* Administers treatments in accordance with Center Protocols.
* Prepares equipment and aids primary clinician (physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant) during treatment and examination of patient.
* Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
* Performs routine preventative maintenance on assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure.
* Verifies instrument functioning by checking and calibrating specific lab instruments and documents data.
* Directs someone with access to CMMS to place a work order for repairs, replacement and maintenance of equipment as needed.
* Prepares patient for and assists with examinations.
* Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment, and maintains stock of supplies and medications.
* Conducts specified laboratory tests.
* Performs and records electrocardiograms.
* Escorts patient to room for assessment.
* Takes patient's vital signs, treats wounds and evaluates physical condition of patient.
* Contacts hospital or other health care facility to arrange for further medical or psychological treatment as directed by the primary care clinician.
* Makes a referral appointment to specialists as ordered by clinician. Then notifies patient.
* Performs hearing, vision, pulmonary function, drug testing and alcohol testing in accordance with established protocols.
* Makes assigned "call-backs" to patients to assess their after-care status.
* Assures that all rooms are stocked at the end of each shift.
* Associate marks charges appropriately in EPIC and on charge ticket and corresponds to diagnosis determined by clinician.
* Takes patient phone calls, acquires physician's response and return information to patient by telephone.
* Labels and dispenses medications from the pharmacy under the direction of the provider on duty.
* Accepts assignments at any Center location.
* Operates radiology equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes.
* Positions patient on examination table and adjusts immobilization devises to obtain optimum views of specified area of body, requested by ordering clinician.
* Moves x-ray equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factor such as time and distance.
* Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
* Occasionally oversees interns, temporary help and new employees in orientation.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
* Degree from an accredited Medical Imaging program
* Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist in the state in which you will practice
* Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist prior to, or within 6 months of hire
* Valid driver's license from state of residence.
* Must have Healthcare Provider CPR certification. Valid CPR certification must be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing vascular access point; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
All functions and duties will be under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.
Assists with inventory/supplies.
Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.
Assists in instruction of new staff as necessary.
Documents accurately and completely according to established policies and procedures.
Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
Performs all essential functions of the Radiologic Technologist.

Cardiac Cath Lab work including left heart cath, with/without coronary stenting, right heart cath, pericardiocentesis, and vascular access under sterile procedure.
Structural Heart Procedures to include TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD/PFO and CardioMEMs.
Hybrid Peripheral Vascular work in coordination with vascular surgery to include EVAR, TCAR, and TEVAR.
Adjunctive tools to complete the above procedures including but not limited to ICUS, FFR/iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rota, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO.

-Positions patients correctly, using proper immobilization techniques-Performs optimal scans using correct technical factors, shielding and protocols, based on the patient diagnosis, history and other relevant clinical information.-Use correct technical factors in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) to use the lowest amount of radiation to get a diagnostic scan.-Performs CT angiography, 3D, MIPS, VR, Vessel Analysis, and MPR's, post processing of computer data to enhance exams for radiologist interpretation, using reconstruction software appropriate to the pathology or region of interest.-Follows correct CT Department Technologist workflow ( select correct scan room, identifies and documents two forms of identification on each patient, acquire history, verify orders, scan patient, send images to PACS, scan all paperwork and data sheets (eg. history sheet, med-reconciliation sheets), complete the case in Meditech, address Q A issues, charge for contrast media and supplies, Verify that all images, series and data sheets have been sent to PACS make sure the number of images is correct, verify exams with images and archive images on scanner-Operates support equipment for CT such as: Independent workstation, pressure injector, PACS and EPIC systems.-Initiates IV for administration of contrast media for CT in accordance with department policy and utilizing standard precautions - Must be IV certified within 3 months of hire.-Prepares patient for exams by explaining procedure and by encouraging questions and answering any questions the patient may have-Transports patients to and from departments when necessary. Assist in transfer of patients on and off the CT table. Continually monitors patient condition during CT procedure.-Accountable for documentation of and charging for supplies used during the performance of exams or procedures.-Documents patient charge data, modifying and initiating charges as procedure modifications are made per the radiologist or ordering physician-Documents any allergic reaction, iv extravasations or unusual occurrences. Initiates incident report regarding staff or patient situations-Maintains appropriate inventory levels of medical supplies. Performs daily quality assurance scans on all scanners prior to use to ensure safety of scanners for patients and staff - Documents daily QA in logbook-Promotes patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives.-Initiates requests for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition - Knowledge of when to call Code Blue/Rapid ResponseReports to work on time and is ready to start work. Job Summary

Prepares and maintains appropriate records as required. Verify cases in PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System) and complete cases in the RIS (Radiology information system) on a timely basis. Participate in any and all projects pertaining to the maintenance and/or correction of the radiology data bases.

General Summary/Basic Purpose of Job:
To manage the specific department(s) as assigned in an efficient professional manner in order to provide quality patient care on a timely basis while assisting the Administrative Director with those applicable duties and assisting physicians in determining the diagnosis of an illness
Responsible for performing routine screening to complex diagnostic mammography as well as bone density studies at the direction of a physician, while adhering to patient safety guidelines and customer service values.

Ability to rotate across the system including MSH, Lavillita which include shift flexibility a well as willing to cover PTO, call-ins and emergencies.
General Summary/ Basic purpose of job Responsible for performing routine screening mammograms to complex diagnostic mammogram studies at the direction of a physician while adhering to patient safety guidelines and customer service values.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Maintains established department policies and procedures. Produces high quality mammograms for interpretation by the Radiologist. Prepares examination room, equipment and materials as needed for patients.
Educates patient on breast health issues, demonstrates self breast examination techniques and provides the patient with a breast care pamphlet required by the ACR/FDA guidelines.
Maintains superior knowledge of policy and procedures for the mammography department.
Maintains daily, weekly, monthly and yearly QA reports for annual MQSA inspection. Maintains all mammography accreditation records and prepares department for annual inspection. Assist the Resource Coordinator and Lead Quality Mammography Technologist.
Utilizes proper basic and advance positioning techniques as needed. Which includes, but not limited to: adjusts equipment, determine proper voltage, selection of proper ACE/OP modes on mammography unit, current and desired exposure time, arranges immobilization, support devices to obtain proper positioning of patient, adjust lead shield and select proper size film per exam.
Cleans and disinfects mammography unit and other equipment before and after patient use in accordance with the ACR/FDA guidelines

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is necessary.

Job overview:
As a Cardiac Cath Lab Rad Tech, you would be responsible for supervising and performing diagnostic radiography and fluoroscopy.
Other duties may include but are not limited to:
* Performs interventional, therapeutic, and vascular procedures under the direct supervision of the Cardiologist, Vascular Surgeon or Neurointerventionalist
* Assists with Transcatheter Aortic Valve Repair Procedures
* Assists with EP device implants
* Maintains flexibility to cover needs at Midtown and Gateway Campuses
* Regularly assists in the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient/family educational needs so that adequate information is communicated to the patient/family.
* Provides patient teaching.
Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education
* Degree from an accredited Medical Imaging program
* Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist in the state in which you will practice
* Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist prior to, or within 6 months of hire
* Must obtain BLS within the first 6 months of hire, and ACLS within 1 year of hire.
* Must be able to take call shifts with the responsibility of a 30 minute response time.
