He galvanizes the business to develop and implement solutions that minimize pain points. He uses a balanced approach, focusing on the customer, staff and organizational goals when driving business and cultural transformations.Mike has utilized his analytical insight to drive thought-leadership and the development of strategic plans across four complex, highly competitive and distinct organizations: Direct Store Delivery (DSD), Wholesale, B2C and Co-Ops. He has the ability to traverse businesses, while setting standards for hundreds of locations with a focus on service, operations and P& L ownership. This has been instrumental to his success.Mike's leadership style is one of encouragement and optimism. Mike is fair, firm and consistent with all. Listen, learn and then lead, building trusting relationships across all parts of the organization is key to success. Utilizing my excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to keep everyone engaged. Have the ability to motivate and inspire small and large teams alike.

What do you like best about Dead River's CEO and the leadership team?

The company recently changed hands so I’m not familiar with the new CEO. Middle management jobs should have been cut as that is where the fat is. There is no leadership. The authoritarian style eliminates any communication between workers & management thus stopping any growth.

How would you improve Dead River's culture?

I’m not sure you can at this point. It used to be a great place to work. Now it’s completely toxic. The refusal of management to acknowledge & keep up with technology is a big issue. Instead of growing & adapting to new ways of doing things, they refuse to accept the new reality that is today’s workforce. Maybe when they all retire, things will get better.

How did you prepare for the Dead River interview?

Let my experience speak for itself.

How does your compensation at Dead River compare to the industry average?

Lower. No differential for night work. Women are paid less than men even if they have more experience.

What's the diversity at Dead River like?

I never saw anyone one other than white heterosexuals working there. No diversity.

What brings you the most joy at Dead River?

I’m not there anymore so my life is great!!!
