Compensation Type: SalariedCompensation: $51,701.00 A Staff Interpreter works full-time as needed to provide interpreting services for students who are d/Deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing to ensure appropriate accommodations in academic settings, meetings with faculty and staff, and campus events. May work evening and weekend hours in-person at the various Columbus State Campuses and Regional Learning Centers and/or virtually contingent upon student need and assignment/course modality. The primary responsibility of the Seasonal Interpretive Educator is to provide visitors with an engaging and safe experience while observing animals in designated areas of the Zoo. These areas include, but are not limited to, the Kangaroo Walkabout, Lorikeet and Asia Quest Aviaries, Giraffe Feeding, Stingray Bay, Adventure Cove Sea Lion Deck, and Manatee Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. You will help visitors connect with the animals in our care through stories, conversations, and memorable experiences such as feeding a giraffe, touching a stingray, or getting up close to a kangaroo. We are seeking someone who is charasmatic, enjoys working with people, is proactive, has a strong sense of responsibility, and thrives both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities Create a positive visitor experience by providing educational information, engaging with guests, and answering questions in designated areas. Develop knowledge of Zoo animals, their habitats, and related conservation initiatives. Perform cleaning duties in animal contact areas and within the Conservation Education Building.
