Job Purpose
Provide RO and GO/global Honda companies with accurate and precise interpretation to enhance communication and support the success of Honda. The fields of interpretation include, but are not limited to, automotive design and styling, material science, computer-aided technologies, automobile testing, business administration, regulations, etc. As leaders and associates rely on interpretation, a high level of language proficiency is essential to bridge communication between the U.S. and Japan. The associate is also expected to work effectively with customers (associates) and consistently exceed their expectations. In addition, he or she should collaborate with fellow interpretation/Translation team members by contributing to departmental projects such as associate engagement, equipment management, quality control, scheduling, assignments, etc.
Key Accountabilities
Provides high-quality interpretation to ADC and its affiliates with strong vigilance for QDE&E (Quality, Delivery and Efficiency/Effectiveness).
Learn about North American Honda operations and the company in general. Research and learn fast-advancing ADC topics such as latest technology, emerging market trends, government landscape, legal, and styling, and share with TTI members
Works with other TTI members as well as independently and takes initiative to plan-propose-implement effective/innovative ideas for efficient TTI operations.
Supports maintaining and building ADC TTI's assets, crucial for machine translation and interpretation.
Technical translations (i.e., A-Requirement, Design Guide, Evaluation comments)
Be ready to provide support for any TTI internal projects that require support.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Education
BA in linguistics, English/ Japanese literature, or relevant subject. Master's degree preferred.
Required Experience
7 or more years of experience in interpretation.
Decisions Expected
Make prioritization and be prepared to accommodate the frequent changes in assignments to respond to customer needs
Decides different methods of interpretation delivery in the case of power outage, etc, which could impact the meeting participants
Working Conditions
Onsite and remote simultaneous interpretation
O/T and business trips as needed
Physical/mental capacity to endure simultaneous interpretation for prolonged period (the industry standard is 15~20 minutes, ADC requires 3~4 hours continuously)
