Pros of working at DealNews

Did the distributed workforce/hybrid thing before it was cool/necessary Opportunities to travel to other branches and interface with coworkers Pay/benefits were solid (up to a point) Sometimes, you'd find great deals just by working

Cons of working at DealNews

Eventually, it became less like a family and more like a factory. The Almighty Dollar took precedence over integrity and compassion, and as a result, the site is a dismal shell of what it once was. All of the people who made it great were unceremoniously pushed out or made the decision to leave because they saw the writing on the wall. It's a real shame.

What do you like best about DealNews's CEO and the leadership team?

I like that once upon a time, they were decent people who truly cared about making something great to share with the masses.

How would you improve DealNews's culture?

Outside of building a time machine and speaking up more, I don't have an answer for this one.

What brings you the most joy at DealNews?

What brought me the most joy was the camaraderie. Some of my fondest memories involve both work and non-work events I took part in with my coworkers. I doubt that exists anymore.

What's the diversity at DealNews like?

During my tenure there, DealNews was as diverse as finding a couple of stray onion rings in a basket of french fries. Can't speak to how it is these days.

How does your compensation at DealNews compare to the industry average?

I think I was compensated generously, but I later learned that not everyone had the same experience.
