Check out our many videos to learn more! ************************************* Summary The Pump Mechanic will repair/fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers and related rotating equipment, troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect and repair a variety of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps (both single and multi-stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps and metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (both vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and many other types of equipment. Responsibilities of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to: Repair/fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers and related rotating equipment Troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect and repair a variety of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps (both single and multi-stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps and metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (both vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and many other types of equipment Install equipment using manufacturer specifications ensuring proper alignment balance and tolerances Read and understand an IOM and BOM Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations Qualifications of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to: Advanced mechanical aptitude required 3-5 years of experience working with rotating equipment (mainly pumps) including but not limited to API and ANSI Pumps, centrifugal and plunger pumps, all brands of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, gear pumps, diaphragm pumps, H-pumps, gear boxes and rotary valves (Preferred) Proficiency with precision measuring instruments Experience with alignment methods and tools including laser alignment (Preferred) Have the ability or learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, and service manuals and posses ability to work with basic math Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments Applicant must be customer driven Ability to work well with others in a team environment Must have positive "can-do" attitude Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow safety procedures and regulations Demonstrated ability to act in a self-directed manner with no immediate supervision Background check, physical, and drug test required Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines #zrjj Additional Information Physical demand: Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and ability to stand for long durations Working Conditions: Climate controlled shop environment Training/Certifications: Professional skill training is a plus Shift Time/Overtime: Typical work is 7:30am - 4:30pm and occasional overtime may be required Travel: Occasional overnight driving might be required. What You'll Do: Perform routine maintenance inspections at various U.S. military locations in the continental United States, through anticipation and planning of recurring maintenance activities. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Class I, II and III hydrant systems including other supporting equipment and appurtenances. Maintain fuel storage tanks, including inspection reports of the operations for unusual circumstances to include pressure changes, leaks, corrosion, etc. Support development of scopes of work for repair and modification Service Orders for Department of Defense (DoD) Fuel facilities as part of the USACE RMMR program. Repairs will be developed in accordance with UFC 3-460-01 “Design: Petroleum Facilities,” American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 650 “Advanced Tank & Construction,” and applicable Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS). Diagnose and correct problems using test equipment, statistical, equipment history, manufactures specifications, and industry-related standards to avoid fuel spills or fuel facility related events. Review repair specifications of equipment or components being purchased or fabricated for repair and construction projects, to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and material specifications. Procure material required by repair or maintenance work. Maintain records relating to maintenance. Document and report all activities in a centrally managed maintenance management system. Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and military management personnel utilizing good judgment in recognizing scope of authority. Investigate and adjust customer complaints and concerns regarding fuel systems maintenance. Maintain knowledge of military standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), EM-385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual, OSHA, EPA, and other industry standards. Adhere to strictly enforced Health and Safety requirements with the highest quality standards expected. Perform all other duties as prescribed by management. What You'll Bring: Two to five years of experience in liquid fuels maintenance or construction on various types of fuel systems that can include marine loading arms, bulk fuel facilities, hot pit fueling systems, gas station dispensing systems, cathodic protection systems, and leak detection systems. Willing to waive some experience and train the right candidate. High School Diploma/GED Proficient in MS Office suite of tools, including Word and Excel; be capable of uploading daily/weekly field reports with photos to cloud-based information management systems. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive) · Ensure correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery, being able to utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). · Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical drive systems, conveyors, Forge Presses, Trim Presses, CNC machinery, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, process water systems and other equipment as assigned. · Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing. · Gather parts and perform repairs. · Work with Maintenance Manager to continually update the maintenance process (es) and system(s). · Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime. · Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists and hand tools. · Assess the condition of used, worn, faulty parts using micrometers, calipers and specifications. · Maintain parts and tools inventory through parts consumption via work orders. · Enter job/work information into CMMS on a routine basis · Have a general understanding of electrical systems including 480VAC 3Ø, 120VAC and 24VDC, being able to safely work around these systems as you perform maintenance functions. · Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading. · Able to adhere to safety and performance standards.
