DESCRIPTION
Decypher is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist candidate to provide support to the Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Tx.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform the full spectrum of sterile techniques, setting up surgical trays, preparing and
draping patients for surgery, and assisting with post-operative dressings.
Ensure surgical packs are cleaned and packed for sterilization after every procedure, to
include restocking surgical supplies.
Maintain a clean, safe environment for the patient either by active participation in the
cleaning of clinical spaces, operating rooms, and medical equipment, or by guiding other
personnel in the environmental maintenance.
Assist surgeon with preoperative process: escort patient to exam rooms/process in take
forms/vital signs
Minor procedures: Set up/assist/break down room/transport dirty surgical instruments to
SPD/ transport Specimen to lab/daily room checks/pharmacy supply of lidocaine is
available
Supplies: maintain supplies levels/organize/clean/monitor expiration dates
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree/Education: Certificate. Graduate from Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, and Air Force) for surgical technicians, surgical technologists or operating room technicians.
Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Certified as a Surgical Technician (CST) from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or possess a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification as a surgical technician and/or operating room technician.
Experience: One year of experience as a Surgical Technician or Operating Room Technician after graduation.

DESCRIPTION
Decypher is seeking qualified Phlebotomy Technicians to support the mission at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Bethesda, MD) Tuesday- Saturday Shift
RESPONSIBILITIES
Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers.
Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.
The contracted Certified Phlebotomist will provide the following services and in strict compliance with standing orders and protocols set forth by the MTF, and IAW JC guidelines to include:
Properly identifying and label specimens.
Maintaining sanitary standards to prevent the transmission of disease.
Selecting and implementing the proper, age-appropriate collection techniques.
Ensuring that samples are properly prepared for laboratory analysis.
Sending specimens to the correct testing locations.
Updating patient records.
OTHER TASKS AND RESPONSIBLITIES THE CONTRACT EMPLOYEE SHALL PERFORM BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Ensure compliance with standard of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment MTF and IAW JC guidelines. Provides care within ethical and legal boundaries.
Complete orientation and competency verification programs in accordance with unit guidelines.
When assigned, will serve, and participate in committees, functions, and other meetings. Provide relevant and timely information and assists with decision making and process improvement.
Will report to the Director of Laboratory Services, or Director of the ASBBC for phlebotomists assigned to mobile blood drives.
As required, participate in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities, designed to enhance health services.
Physically helping with the setup and breakdown of mobile blood drives equipment and supplies, able to move/ lift a modest amount of weight (40 lbs.)
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree/Education: Graduation from an accredited training program resulting in certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), Health and Human Services or American Medical Certification
Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Primarily none required but State dependent.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience.
Board Certification: None.
Licensure/Registration: None
Citizenship: Must be a U.S citizen.

Summary

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
PAY RANGE
$21.00 - $29.12
