POSITION SUMMARY
The Communications Specialist is responsible for helping to plan and implement a wide variety of media activities to gain coverage for Defenders of Wildlife and issues related to the organization's mission. In this role, the Communications Specialist's primary responsibilities include developing and implementing media plans, drafting opinion editorials, letters to the editors, news releases, blogs, factsheets, talking points and other press materials. The Communication Specialist will be responsible for interacting directly with members of the media and expected to build relationships with the news media. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for both proactive and reactive communications, and be able to work well under tight timelines. Additional communications-related activities may be assigned by the Communications Director and/or the Senior Vice President of External Affairs.
Regular interdepartmental collaboration for determining media opportunities, deadlines, messaging priorities and materials needed is essential in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Writing: Generates press releases, statements, talking points, advisories, factsheets, op-eds, letters to the editor, editorial board memos and other press materials as assigned.
Serves as a lead communications person for several different issue areas and teams.
Media & Messaging Strategy: Works with program staff and Communications Team to develop and implement media plans.
Participates and represents Defenders on key coalition teams, collaborating with coalition partners in strategy, materials development and action.
Media relations: Establishes working relationships with reporters in issue areas. Call and email reporters to pitch Defenders-related stories; field inquiries from the media and work with pertinent program staff members to conduct interviews.
Research: Conducts research to develop talking points and other media relations and programmatic materials as needed.
Press events: Works with appropriate program staff to coordinate, execute and publicize press events, teleconferences, and other promotional activities.
Attends press briefings and activities and helps prepare senior executives for interviews and media appearances.
General support: Collaborates with and supports Communications Team colleagues in daily communications department work.
Collaborate with Defenders' Conservation Program Teams and Marketing Team to ensure coordinated messaging and communications strategies.
Limited travel may be required to support interviews, events and/or conferences, or interdepartmental meetings.
Performs all other work-related duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, identifying advertising needs and preferred outlets for such advertising; drafting social media as requested; developing coalition toolkits; etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's (B.A./B.S.) degree or equivalent
Experience: 4 years of relevant experience with a proven track record of tier-one media placements, knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process, and ability to juggle multiple issues.

Responsibilities
1) Executive and Administrative Support

To advance our mission, we are seeking a full-time Senior Policy Specialist, Clean Energy to join our Climate and Energy team, working out of our National Advocacy Center in Washington, DC, with telework options. Our Climate and Energy team advances domestic policies at federal, regional, and state levels that curb greenhouse gas emissions, speed an equitable transition to clean energy on- and offshore, decarbonize industry, and expand natural and technological carbon removal. NWF seeks to grow bipartisan support for short- and long-term policy action on climate, working with a range of partners to build diverse coalitions. The Senior Policy Specialist, Clean Energy will help shape and bring leadership to NWF's policy and advocacy priorities with regards to the needed expansion of responsibly developed clean energy in the United States, integrating our commitments to climate stabilization, habitat and natural resource conservation, environmental justice, and community engagement. You will report to the Associate Vice President of Climate and Energy and work alongside the rest of the Climate and Energy and Offshore Wind teams in Washington, D.C.
As the Senior Policy Specialist, Clean Energy, you will serve as a primary in-house expert on clean energy technologies and policy options, helping guide the Federation's activities to advance the environmentally and socially responsible buildout of renewable and zero/low-carbon energy at the pace and scale needed to stabilize our rapidly changing climate while avoiding, minimizing, and mitigating negative impacts to wildlife habitat and elevating the needs of host communities. You will advise and collaborate with the AVP and colleagues from the climate, offshore wind, public and private lands, environmental justice, Tribal outreach, and other teams and regional offices in shaping and representing clean energy policy for NWF. You will perform policy analysis, advocacy, research, writing, public and media education, coalition building and maintenance, and intra-organizational communication and coordination.
Principle Duties (major areas of responsibility):
Policy Analysis and Advocacy
Congress: You will serve as our team's primary point person for Congressional strategy and outreach on clean energy, keeping abreast of policy opportunities (including appropriations), building relationships with key offices and staff, and striving for bipartisanship.
Federal Agencies: You will advocate for policy solutions at the Department of Energy, the Bureau of Land Management, and potentially others that steer the energy sector toward responsible decarbonization. You will monitor, lead, and collaborate on response to key regulatory actions through public comments and communications strategies.
States: You will provide input to NWF's Senior Program Manager for Climate and Energy Policy on the development of a state policy hub that provides resources and technical assistance to state partners, and on identification of potential model state legislation and targeted advocacy engagement opportunities.
Analysis: In collaboration with the AVP and other team members, you will help guide NWF policy on permitting and on emerging areas of importance.
Other Advocacy Duties: You will occasionally represent NWF and our clean energy policy goals in the media and help advise on public statements.
Coalition Participation and Partnership Development - You will lead NWF engagement in NGO-industry working groups on clean energy, including on clean energy tax credits, energy innovation policy, next-generational geothermal energy policy, and congressional strategy regarding offshore wind. You will help craft educational and persuasive materials on clean energy for different audiences and shape a strategy for (terrestrial) clean energy industry education on wildlife and community needs, working with colleagues to refine and disseminate best practices for responsible development.
Fundraising - You will work closely with the AVP and NWF's philanthropy team to maintain existing funder relationships and devise and execute strategies to seek new funding opportunities to support our clean energy goals.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience, with a working knowledge of clean energy, smart grid technology, renewable energy permitting/siting, energy storage, or related policy.
A Master's or other advanced degree in environmental policy or law, environmental engineering, energy innovation, climate change, biology, environmental economics, or relevant field can count towards experience.

Due diligence is part of the full lifecycle of our corporate engagement process and helps WWF assess the potential areas of risk and opportunity and the strategic value of every WWF corporate partnership. WWF's corporate due diligence approach examines potential corporate partners' structure and operations as well as its environmental, social and governance policy, performance, and impacts. This paid internship provides an opportunity to practice project coordination and administrative skills in a professional setting, gain knowledge about corporate sustainability, global environmental issues, and contribute to WWF's mission. The intern will work closely with members of WWF's Private Sector Engagement and Development Teams. The work will involve processing requests and developing internal WWF resources and tools for corporate due diligence. In addition, this role will use tools like the Risk Filter Suite (Water Risk Filter and Biodiversity Risk Filter) to research corporate supply chains in support of the Private Sector Engagement team's research function.

Responsibilities
* Manage queue of due diligence research requests.
* Prioritizing incoming requests based on coordination with WWF Private Sector Engagement and Development teams and external consultants.

The major function of the Coordinator is to provide overall administrative support to reinforce the smooth functioning of the Earth for Life (EFL) team. The Coordinator role is responsible for performing a variety of both standard and complex administrative duties, contract functions and accounting tasks and providing support to high priority projects and general office needs using administrative skills, organizational skills, and detailed knowledge of the organization and its programs and policies. The position is a critical one as the Coordinator will support the implementation of a number of high profile, fast-moving and complex projects. Responsibilities
* Grant and Contract Coordination - Responsible for drafting of grant agreement and contracts with consultants and other country offices. Inputs information into the WWF agreement portal and collaborates with technical staff to ensure that necessary information is provided and agreements are progressing. Once agreements are signed, ensures that subgrants to country offices and others are completed in a timely fashion. Tracks incoming financial and technical reports and/or deliverables through the grant and contract cycle.
* Financial support - Leads the development of preliminary data and background information for the EFL budget preparation process, working between the EFL SVP, VP and the Program Operations. This work involves working with other internal stakeholders and external partners. Reviews and processes payments for credit cards transactions, out of pocket expenses, and invoices. Inputs proper coding into the financial system, prepares check and/or wire requests, manages re-classes and serves as the liaison with accounting to track payments. Compiles and reviews financial reports submitted by others. Processes, organizes, and prepares expense reports for input into the financial systems, Workday and Smart Simple software. May monitor expense reports against budget, seeking explanations for significant variations.
* Team strategy - Works closely with EFL SVP, VP and EA to take forward the team strategy, including helping to drive collaborative processes intended to improve team integration and performance and communication and collaboration.
* Document review and preparation - Regularly composes correspondence and program materials including complex documents such as internal quarterly reports and presentations using PowerPoint, ensuring accuracy of content.
* Recordkeeping - Collects programmatic information and maintains records in accordance with policies and procedures, using Microsoft Word, Excel, or specialized databases such as SharePoint and customer relationship management (CRM) software. Responsible for upkeeping EFL Sharepoint folders on a quarterly basis and working with the EFL KM focal point to ensure key documents are stored and records are up to date. Reviews, validates, and inputs data collected or provided by others.
* Internal team meetings: Leads the development of the agenda for a weekly team meeting and supports the running of the meeting, including relevant follow up.
* External meetings/conferences/special events - Responsible for organizing meetings and workshops with external partners, which can include events of up to 60 people. Arranges attendee coordination and material preparation, and engages with external vendors relating to space and equipment rental, AV needs, catering. Registers supervisor(s) and staff for conferences, workshops, and events.
* Report preparation - Prepares and creates reports for internal staff, as well as members, donors, and government staff by creating tables and charts, calculating statistics, interpreting data, and assisting with drafting results summaries. May assist with compiling input for proposals and preparing for presentations.
* Communication - Responds to and schedules meeting requests for supervisor(s) and staff with internal and external individuals. Answers and routes phone calls, greets visitors, and replies to complex inquiries requiring detailed knowledge of departmental procedures.
* General office duties - Manages schedules and makes travel arrangements on behalf of supervisor(s) and team staff. Performs miscellaneous office tasks. May assign work and coordinate projects performed by part-time and temporary staff.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director serves the nations governors and provides strategic leadership for NGA. Responsibilities
Event Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement an annual calendar of events aligned with organizational goals.
Collaborate with leadership and the brand team when an event has thought leadership or public audiences to define event concepts, objectives, target audiences, and success metrics.
Prepare briefing materials for key staff and stakeholders.
Execution & Logistics
Manage all aspects of event production and logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, permits, catering, and audiovisual needs.
Oversee event budgets, timelines, run of show, and staffing plans.
Potentially travel to event sites across the United States, as well as internationally (e.g., UK, Canada, and other locations) as required.
Stakeholder Engagement
Coordinate with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners to ensure seamless execution of donor engagement strategies.
Work closely with multiple departments, including Institutional Giving donor account managers, to coordinate invitations and manage related communications.
Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and volunteer leadership.
Marketing & Communications
Work with the Brand team division to develop promotional materials, event assets, press releases, and social media campaigns.
Collaborate with the Brand division to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all event touchpoints.
Post-Event Reporting
Conduct evaluations, gather feedback, and prepare debrief/impact reports.
Maintain records and databases for future planning and donor stewardship appropriately in the CRM system (Blackbaud NXT).
Determine goals and KPIs associated with each event and report on the results.

Requirements and skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; two years of experience in coordinating events, preferably in a nonprofit or international context for fundraising, development, or a related field
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Strong project management and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and using CRM systems, experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge/NXT is a bonus
Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed
Capable of working independently and as part of a team, and a familiarity with working across time zones and cultures.
Understanding of fundraising principles and practices

Position Summary:
The Campaigns Data Director will serve as the primary liaison for the Data Operations team and the committee's Organizing and Voter Protection departments. This position will require a blend of technical skills and stakeholder management. With the support of the Data Operations and Analytics teams, this role will help develop the Organizing and Voter Protection data strategy by helping create and perfect helpful metrics and improve data processes by managing vendor relationships and refining data workflows.
Responsibilities:
* Act as the primary liaison on the Data Operations team for departments running voter outreach programs, such as the Organizing and Voter Protection departments
* Help to scope voter outreach programs to ensure that teams have the reporting required to make key investment decisions and the tooling infrastructure to execute programs
* Work across the DCCC to ensure accurate cross-department information sharing and transparency related to program status, tool access, and data support
* Hire and manage a team of Regional Data Associates to facilitate tool set-up, data standards enforcement, and ad hoc data requests related to voter outreach
* Administer outreach tools for departments running voter outreach programs (past vendors have included NGPVAN, PDI, Hustle, Scale to Win, Reach, and Mobilize)
* Build and maintain relationships with DCCC organizing vendors; collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to develop and execute cycle roadmaps to ensure that outreach tools meet DCCC needs and are streamlined for voter contact and volunteer engagement
* Attend regular cross-committee meetings with leadership from sister committees including the DNC and DSCC to help create common data standards for VAN usage
* Create and enforce committee-wide data standards for voter outreach programs
* Manage a data ticketing system for staff to ask questions and receive support related to campaigns data and tool administration
* Supporting Voter Protection staff in ballot cure-related data management and reporting, as well as supporting LBJ, the DNC's Voter Protection CRM
* Maintain relationships with state voter file managers to facilitate accurate receipt of election data from states, including polling locations and early vote uploads
* Manage VAN Targets for staff and work closely with Engineering and Analytics teams to make sure that voter contact universes are syncing across various outreach tools

Requirements
* 2-3 cycles (4-6 years) of experience working on campaigns or with political data
* Ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences
* Excellent stakeholder and vendor management abilities
* Experience creating training materials and documentation
* Extensive VAN experience, with at least one cycle in an administrative capacity
* Experience working with texting, dialing and relational tools (examples include Scale to Win, Switchboard, Hustle, REACH, Mobilize)
* Fluency with SQL; some experience with Python and R would be a plus
