DeLaval company history timeline

1986

In 1986 Imo Delaval, with 21 plants in North America and Europe and close to 3,500 employees, had revenues of $358 million.

Three years later, in 1986, W. J. Holcombe returned to the newly independent company as chief executive officer and was named president the following year.

Independence from Transamerica in 1986 brought with it many fundamental changes.

1987

Beginning in 1987, the newspapers were filled with accounts of Imo acquisitions, large and small.

1992

In 1998, the company completed the sale of its Instrumentation business, and Roltra-Morse businesses. Thus, in 1992, Imo Industries implemented a strategy to reduce its outstanding debt through the sale and divestiture of certain businesses.

2000

When the owners, Tetra Pak, sold Alfa Laval in 2000, they kept the portion of the company that is now DeLaval.

2005

A very high demand in most of Alfa Laval’s end markets – primarily the energy and energy-related sectors – contributes to the increase in order intake by 30 per cent from 2005.

2009

After fourteen months of fundraising, the National Trust received the keys to Seaton Delaval Hall in December 2009.
