In 1835 a second exhibition was held and many additions made, including “domestic manufactures, fruits, dairy and household productions.” The highest premium was $8, and the lowest 75 cents.

In 1836, a similar announcement appeared in the Gazette, of the “Third Annual Cattle Show and Exhibition of Domestic Manufactures,” being scheduled to take place in October next.

The Society conducted these exhibitions for a number of years with no found mention of them in the early 1840’s.

Due to the large number of deeply religious people in the county, during the 1830s, 1840s, 1850s, and 1860s, residents played an important role in the Underground Railroad. It also is home to Ohio Wesleyan University, a school established by Methodists in 1842.

In May 1848, a meeting of the Society was held, which elected the following officers: David Bush, President; Wilder Joy, Vice President: B. Powers, Treasurer; L. Glessner, Secretary.

The meetings of the association were held first one place and then another, wherever circumstances favored, until 1854.

Begun in 1946, the "Little Brown Jug" has become one of the premier races in the harness-racing Triple Crown.

With about 24,000 square feet, the center replaces the old Junior Fair Building, a structure of 8,800 square feet and constructed around a pole barn built in 1964.

The county's average income was approximately thirty-five thousand dollars per person in 1999, with just 4.5 percent of the population living in poverty.

The county seat is Delaware, which is the largest population center, with just over twenty-five thousand residents in 2000.
