Delaware Park company history timeline
William Rickman Sr. had a full career as a Maryland real estate developer before he purchased Delaware Park at age 63 in 1983.
In the early 1990's, the city made an investment of $700,000 to remove earlier renovations and restore the casino to its Green & Wicks design, less the third story.
Competition improved in 1996 when legislation allowed slot machines at the track.
Since 2000, the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy has carried on this effort.
Five years ago, the Rickmans also sold Ocean Downs, a Berlin, Maryland, casino and racetrack, which they purchased in 2000.
In 2006, it is possible to rent one or both banquet-style spaces within the casino for private events.
