Job Description DELI KITCHEN CLERK - SALAD BAR REGULAR PART TIME - $19.00-22.00/HR SHIFTS: COMPLETE OPEN AVAILABILITY - EVENINGS & WEEKENDS REQUIRED As a Deli Kitchen Clerk you focus on upholding the highest standards of quality of all food produced by the Deli Kitchen, supporting the overall goals and success of the daily operations. Accurately practice FIFO product rotation to minimize and control spoilage and waste. Organize, rotate, and stock workstation and department supplies. (e.g. product ingredients, paper goods & packaging products, etc.) Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment. (e.g. floors, counters, windows, workstations, etc.) Operation of equipment. (e.g. stoves, fryers, oven , etc.) Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously. Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation and safe work practices. Immediately reports safety hazards and violations to supervisors. Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned. Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings. Other duties as assigned by supervisors. Maintains cleanliness and eye-appeal of work area, storage area, and selling floor. Requirements Ability to: Work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation; including night, weekends and holidays. Communicate (hearing & speech) with customers to receive orders, up sell and perform customer relation skills. Conduct visual inspections and read / follow guides, recipes and product labels. Reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 20-30 lbs. frequently, and 30-50 lbs. occasionally within the range of floor level to overhead. Push and pull handtrucks, carts and pallet jacks containing product of substantial weight. Stand, walk and move rapidly for long periods of time. Bend, stoop, twist, climb ladders, turn frequently. Perform safe/quick movements and operate related equipment listed below with manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide). Exhibit manual dexterity and good hand /eye coordination. Exhibit interpersonal skills through oral and written communication. Work with potential hazards with respect to equipment, tools and work aides. Use cleaning chemicals and handle related food products. Wear hats, hairnets, gloves, and other personal protective equipment as required. Must be 16 years of age or older. Perform primary duties efficiently and accurately.
