The deli clerk is an important position within the store. Many customers make their decisions to shop at our store because of the quality of the perishable departments and specifically the quality of the product that we make available to them. She/he needs to deliver a great customer experience while assisting the Deli Manager in the daily operation of the Department; maintaining a neat, clean and visually appealing space. Job Functions: Performance of the essential functions of this position requires the team members to possess the minimum qualifications listed above. These functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Use a slicing machine and related equipment. (Machines related to the deli department, adhering with the safety protocol) Replenish Deli product. Prepare Deli product for sale. Follow approved procedures for receiving, code dating, preparing, storing, and price marking, arranging, and restocking products to ensure quality, accuracy and product rotation and protection. Handle damaged and spoiled products according to Company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
