Essential Functions of the Position: The following functions have been determined by Wa-Nee Community Schools to be essential to the successful performance of this position. * Safety and efficiently transport school students via a school bus to and from school and trips. * Maintain school bus based on maintenance schedules and ensuring the vehicle is pre-trip inspection ready. * Keep the school bus clean both inside and out. * Be responsible to report any service and/or mechanical issues as needed to maintain a school bus that meets safe operating conditions and in compliance with State School Bus Committee rules and applicable statutory provisions. * Operate consistently in compliance with all school, local, State, and Federal laws, rules, policies, and procedures that govern the safe operation of a school bus and student transportation. * Provide supervision and control of students between the homes or alternative sites of the students and the school(s). * Keep order and maintain discipline in the bus, being firm but polite, impartial, and fair, and see that no child is imposed upon or mistreated while in the drivers care.
