Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
Comply with all traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to the proper agency or scheduler.
Observe all GCMC safety rules and exercise good judgment in the operation of the vehicles.
Pick up and drop off passengers at scheduled locations, following time schedules.
Provide assistance to passengers, including but not limited to operation of wheelchair lift and securement devices; assistance with boarding and deboarding, transfers from seat to seat, etc. Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort, clean the van after each trip. Maneuver wheelchairs on and off ramp, up curbs and over thresholds. Assist with small packages as needed. Secure all packages.
Maintain confidentially of sensitive or personal information.
Operate telephone, cell phone for communication with scheduler.
Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures and CPR. Maintain order among passengers during trips, in order to ensure safety.
