INTRODUCTION The purpose of this document is to define the responsibilities, principal duties, reporting relationships and measures of performance for the Driver position. FUNCTIONAL ROLE The basic function of the Driver II (Demand Response) is to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable transportation to all Saguaro Foundation consumers by conscientiously and responsibly operating vehicles. In addition, the Driver provides necessary supports to the Demand Response Operations Manager by accurately completing necessary documentation. Adhere to safety regulations regarding passenger restraints, including wheelchair tie downs, storage of equipment, etc. Operate wheelchair lifts and ramps. Load customers using wheelchairs. Assist passengers in loading and unloading. Report and document passenger cancellations and transfers. Notify proper authorities and report to supervisor if involved in an accident. React appropriately in emergency situations. Document and notify appropriate parties for all incidents/accidents. Performs any other duty as deemed necessary by superiors. Follows proper reporting procedures for all incidents/accidents. Accurately and efficiently performs any other duties deemed necessary by superiors.
