David Williams is a Chief Executive Officer at Deloitte Financial Advisory Svcs LLP.

I am the Chief Knowledge Officer (“CKO”) of Deloitte Advisory and a Director of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP (“Deloitte FAS”). I am also the CKO for Global Financial Advisory in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (“DTTL”). In these roles I'm responsible for United States and global knowledge management in practice areas which include Deloitte Forensic, Risk and Resilience, Analytics, Cyber, Financial Transactions, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Valuation Services, Corporate Finance, Corporate Restructuring Services, Regulatory, Forensic and Compliance as well as serving and advising priority Deloitte Clients on knowledge management, technology, strategy and talent management.

To deliver on these responsibilities I work closely with professionals in the areas of technology, innovation, strategy, learning, talent development and risk management, as well as managing teams of knowledge management professionals in different countries.

I am also the Service Area Leader for Deloitte Professional Research Services (“DPRS”) leading a team of researchers in India and the United States who undertake corporate research, competitive analysis, financial modeling and the publishing of thoughtware and eminence materials for use by Deloitte Clients and within the DTTL Member Firms.

Nick is an accomplished corporate leader and a Retired Senior Principal at Deloitte who focused on providing Financial & Risk Advisory Services. He advised entities on matters of growth, resilience, organizational readiness and aspects of financial analysis and risk in areas such as M&A, joint ventures, reorganizations, intellectual property protection and monetization, Industry 4.0, supply chain risk, and digital transformation. Nick gained directorship perspective and business acumen from diverse experiences serving on board and operating committees at Deloitte, COO of its Financial & Risk Advisory practice, a financial transaction and risk expert for domestic and multi-national organizations and Private Equity, and as a military commander and working engineer. He is a Governance Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and sits on the Program Committee of the SF Chapter of the Private Directors Association.

As business unit leader, Nick held revenue generation, growth and market development responsibilities, talent development and succession planning, and client satisfaction accountability. He led the strategy for three successful service offerings: construction advisory, commercial due diligence and integrated transaction valuation. As a military officer, Regional Managing Principal (RMP), and COO, he oversaw the turnaround, revitalization, and transformation of various business units that were the equivalent of being in “financial distress” into businesses that met or exceeded plan with a strategy for future growth and succession.

From a consulting perspective, Nick has advised public and private companies, and private equity in transaction structuring, negotiations, due diligence, intellectual property issues, financial analysis, dispute resolution and litigation support. He held national advisory leadership roles in the aerospace & defense, and hospitality and gaming industries, and also served companies in the industrial, technology and consumer industries.

Nick is passionate about family, education and fitness. While time for family and friends is always a priority, he chairs the National Advisory Board of PeerForward, a nonprofit focused on fostering a college-going culture in high schools for low-income students, and serves on the Smithsonian Libraries National Advisory Board, the largest museum library system in the world and also Chairs the Nominating and Board Stewardship Committee. An avid runner competing in races of all distances, Nick has completed over 100 full and half marathons in the past 35 years.
