Work tasks are physical and include bending, lifting, standing, and walking. Work tasks are repetitive, such as loading and stacking bags weighing up to 50-70 pounds. At times, these tasks will be completed in harsh weather conditions (heat, rain, snow). We practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Some of your daily tasks include:
Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, in addition to being responsible for timely connections by guiding incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions.
Safeguard Cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather.
Safely driving and operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion.
Operate baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is routed accurately to the customer's destination.
Scheduling is based on operational needs. Shifts range from early morning to overnight. Each station is different based on its individual flight schedule. You will also work between 20 and 40 hours per week based on your seniority.

Monitor system alerts and communicate issues to SOC personnel, flight crews or station agents (e.g. need to reseat passengers, payload limitations or restrictions, need for ballast, etc.)
Monitor automated system data feeds and assist in reporting, troubleshooting, and resolving issues
Monitor irregular operations and communicate with dispatcher and station agents in a timely manner
Provide oversight and manual manipulation of flights that are not automatically processed by the weight and balance system
Monitor the fuel ordering process. Ensure fuel slips are generated by the system, communicate revisions to stations, and provide manual manipulation when necessary
Report irregularities or safety issues

Role Summary
The Principal Solutions Architect is a sole subject matter expert in data architecture, engineering best practices, and the Data Services technology stack. As an individual contributor, this role defines long-term strategy for the ITS Data Services Team to develop and maintain the Enterprise Data Platform. This highly autonomous, strategic role will exercise considerable latitude and initiative to shape data solution strategies, resolve technical and governance challenges, and drive innovation across the data ecosystem.

Steers technical architecture assessments of potential technologies.

Participate in Analytics stakeholder workshops to help build Data products per IT SDLC standards.
Manage solution designs, technical specifications, methodologies, processes, and IT technical guidelines.

Required
7 years of experience in data engineering, big data platforms, and analytics, including independent work on large-scale data architectures or related area.

Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines & Horizon Air are regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulations, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of marijuana, cocaine, opioids, phencyclidine (PCP) and amphetamines or a metabolite of these drugs prior to any offer or employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position.
