Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Tele position requiring strong neuro and cardiac skills and an active AZ or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital setting on a 24-bed Med Surg/Tele unit
All beds have telemetry capability
Patient population is primarily adults; pediatric patients are assigned only to permanent staff
Day shift, 12-hour schedules
Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5 on days and 1:6 at night, based on acuity
Floating to all Med Surg units and ICU (for Med Surg overflow) is required
Support staff includes tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
Hospitalist, respiratory therapist, and pharmacy services available 24/7
Charting is done using Sunrise Allscripts EMR
Nurse managers are available for rounding but do not provide patient care
No IV team support on the unit
Assigned scrubs must not be all black; any other color is permitted
Scrubs are not provided
Trauma Level 3 hospital environment
Requirements
Active AZ or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Tele experience
Certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
Strong neuro and cardiac skills required
PALS certification is preferred
