1834

However, five students met that day for what was to become the first meeting of 1834 Club at Georgia Tech.

Dinner meetings continued throughout the spring quarter, and the membership in the 1834 Club was growing.

Not having a house the 1834 Club was ineligible for the homecoming display and because of a lack of space in which a wreck could be built, it had no Ramblin‘ Wreck entry.

1838

By 1838 two-thirds of all students at Williams belonged to the society which engaged in militant agitation against the other two fraternities.

1847

At the Troy Convention in 1847, the chapters in attendance voted to take the name ‘The Anti-Secret Confederation.’

1854

In 1854 the University of Vermont chapter, which was named Delta Psi, severed its connections with the Anti-Secret Confederation.

1855

An 1855 debate proposed by Kappa Alpha against the Oudens was called-off after the Social Fraternity appointed James Garfield, an Ouden well known for his rhetorical skills, to represent them.

1862

At the 1862 convention, the fraternity's mother chapter, Williams, declared the purposes of the fraternity had been corrupted and, over the objections of the other chapters, withdrew.

1865

By 1865, a year after becoming Delta Upsilon, DU had grown to 15 chapters in the northeast.

1882

The Delta Upsilon Quarterly started publishing in 1882.

1888

Penn’s chapter was established on March 23, 1888 and first appeared in The Record of that same year.

1898

In 1898, Delta Upsilon joined the recent trend of fraternity expansion into Canada by chartering a chapter at McGill University in Montreal.

1909

In 1909, Charles Evans Hughes led the incorporation of the fraternity.

Harvard responded by declaring it didn't recognize the authority of DU headquarters as Delta Upsilon had ceased to exist in 1909.

1915

In 1915 the Harvard chapter stopped paying dues to the fraternity.

1920

By 1920 the fraternity had grown to 44 chapters.

1944

John Arthur Clark, the celebrated former commander of the Seaforth Highlanders and a Member of Parliament from Vancouver, was elevated to "international president", the fraternity's penultimate office, in 1944, holding it for three consecutive terms.

1945

In 1945, The Equitable Union made overtures asking for cooperation and unification as a branch of the Social Fraternity.

1949

In 1949, through the vision and generosity of Hugh E. Nesbitt, an alumnus from the Ohio State Chapter, the Delta Upsilon Educational Foundation (DUEF) was founded to provide educational scholarships to DU members.

1955

On the 17th of November, 1955, at Dean Griffin‘s invitation, a committee consisting of Pete Dewees, Alex Wilkie, Earl Schooley, and Rick Green met at Georgia Tech to discuss plans for establishing a colony.

1956

The turbulence the Greek system experienced in the middle 20th century began for Delta Upsilon in 1956.

1957

In the spring of 1957, the club applied to the General Fraternity for a charter.

During the summer of 1957, the members of 1957, the members of the club who were in Atlanta planned the rush season for the fall quarter.

1962

At the 1862 convention, the fraternity's mother chapter, Williams, declared the purposes of the fraternity had been corrupted and, over the objections of the other chapters, withdrew. It was permanently erased when Williams College banned all fraternities in 1962.

1969

In 1969, Delta Upsilon International Headquarters moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, to service the Fraternity's membership more efficiently.

1972

In 1972 the Pennsylvania Chapter was disbanded, but re-organized eighteen years later.

1986

Almost 20 years later, in 1986, the Brown chapter rejoined Delta Upsilon.

1992

Since 1992, Delta Upsilon chapter has occupied a house at 4035 Spruce Street.

1999

The new chapter was installed in 1999, four years after the D.U. Club had merged with the Fly Club.

2003

The fraternity remains active at Penn in 2003.

2005

In 2005 the six-year-old Delta Upsilon chapter voted to disaffiliate from the fraternity.

2009

In 2009, Delta Upsilon introduced its 152nd chapter.

Beginning in 2009 the Fraternity implemented a series of changes that radically reshaped the organization.

2014

In 2014, ten years after the collapse of Delta Psi, Delta Upsilon entered the Burlington campus for the first time since its split with Delta Psi, chartering a colony.

2018

In May 2018, Delta Upsilon announced a Substance-free Housing Policy to its membership.

2019

In 2019, the North American Interfraternity Conference removed hard alcohol from all NIC member organization housing.

2020

1, 2020, all chapter facilities were to be substance-free unless granted a waiver.
